There are some funky Birkenstocks if you look around though, no need to be boring just cos you’ve got to wear comfortable shoes :D

next summer i will have a good look in the shops and get the funkiest they’ve got……..have to say im not sure how i’ll cope with the bit that goes between your toes……i’ve got really ticklish feet

You’ll be the woman in the comfortable shoes, walking down the high street giggling constantly to yourself then . . . . .

I have to join the Glee Club. Woodie! U Da Man!

Mind you, as I only appeared sparingly on any lists, I guess my endorsement blows his credibility

in comparison to what? Not us or they wouldn’t be served up in batter and deep fried or fooled into thinking a feather bobbing about on the surface is a fly for instance :)

Is it our superior intellect that has us camping in Lion Country?

2 things nice to see ffs,

    1. Yet another thread way off topic and ruined……

    2. That am not among the nice guys in ere………….why would I be………….I’m not two faced.

Number One no surprise, number two – are you honestly saying that to be regarded as ‘nice’, a man must be two faced?

It would be very sad if that was true. No one’s perfect but in my experience there are few two-faced people on here, even the people who have qualities I don’t like seem unable or unwilling to disguise them.

I’ve always regarded you as a nice guy tintin, never pretended otherwise. I can’t remember if my name’s up there (although I am vain enough to look, I won’t today) but if it is, I hope you take my comment as sincere and not two faced.

How does the foil stick to the radiators? And how on earth do you get behind there?

foil sticks to the wall and reflects heat in to the room instead of the wall
i bet he puts cling film over his windows too :P

I did that years ago when we were in an old style house, I think it made a difference, but of course it’s a bit fiddly as you have to do it pane by pane. It doesn’t cut out the draughts around the window though. and you can always remove it again in the summer.

The most effective saver I’ve found is to only use stuff when you need it, turn off lights when rooms are unused, and turn on the heating when an extra layer – a jumper, or cardigan, stops keeping you warm. then wear warmer clothes even if the heating is on, so you can turn the thermostat down – you don’t have to go to extremes, although I have been known to pretend I’m Noel Coward in my dressing gown with my glass of brandy . . . .
