I think ive sussed it out. Its all to do with social standing isnt it. The higher up the class ladder one becomes the more your sense of humour disintigrates. Why didnt I think of this before…. #-o
I wonder if it is geography not social class, that causes this disintegration of the sense of humour???
For instance, I have noticed over the months that people of the ”Northern persuasion” (and Scots in particular) seem to take themselves far more seriously than those who live in warmer climates (i.e. nearer the South ). After all the Scottish Presbyters brought gloom to millions, and of course Scots are notorious worldwide for their natural meanness.
Could it be that these characteristics have slowly percolated south of Hadrian’s wall as the Scots interbreed with the rest of the world??? Maybe the longer hours of darkness have a part to play???
This is a subject that ought to be explored further before this infection spreads too far.
Hmmm…..that comment could get the gold plated wooden spoon but then again it’s only PB in wind up mode……………..again!!
What about a wind up merchant competition for 2007…..I wonder who would win that one?
