ive read in a couple of my hubbys science mag, that a lot of the global warming propaganda machine is about raising taxes. and little to do with the environment. i have read that a lot of scientists say that the earth has always been warming, and that there is little or nothing we can do about it. now im not agreeing with these veiws, and i do re cycle and have bought a l.p.g car because it is a lot cheaper, and cleaner to run than petrol or diesel. but a lot of people are now running their diesel cars on cooking oil. and as a biker i can tell you for a fact, that these cars spew out a lot of smoke, choking black dirty smoke, this cant be doing the environment any good. and before long the chancellor will slap a massive tax on cooking oil. so itwil cost a fiver to fil the chip pan. oil is now past its peak availability, and it can only become more expensive, the russians have staked a flag on the bottom of the arctic. so there will be a race on soon to grab the arctic and turn it into a giant oil refinary, that is if we dont all get nuked in the war for the land.

Global Warming is indeed nowt but a pocket-picking justification for governments worldwide, but as for your cooking oil commentary..the only black dirty smoke that’s spewing, is the stuff coming out of your rear end along with your brains.
In order for a car engine to run in perpetuation through means of cooking oil..that oil has first to be cleaned, filtered, purified, and chemically altered by a number of lengthy and considered processes. It takes weeks and often months, to build a bio-diesel processor and one has to deal with the legalities of tax and waste refuse certification.
My husband runs his own bio-diesel operation. Your notion of us scooting around on a pan of chip-fat is as laughable as it is ill-informed. As those eejits who may have tried that very thing will have found once their car-engines seize up fifty miles into their journeys.
And as a biker..I can tell YOU that for a fact.

Sorry but i beg to differ, oneof my best mates runs his tranny van [diesel engine] on cooking oil, and has done so for the last year. i know he does because ive seen it with my own eyes. so your sad attempt at calling me a liar has failed pet. im sure that your hubby does have his own business doing things with oil, but a tranny van will run on flora. as will any diesel engine.

Yeah..SVO will work on older diesel engines but the newer engines i.e. after 2002 are mostly CRD – far more sensitive to fuel change and thus the probability of severe damage.
On the even newer diesel engines..there are things called diesel particulate filters which will NOT operate on straight veg oil.
The only thing that can be used on all of these is well-produced bio diesel.
Furthermore, should methanol, soaps or lye remain present in badly reacted bio diesel..this will also cause serious damage to the more modern engine.
So go ahead..pour in the Flora..and if y’all have a Lucas fuel pump then prepare to take out a bank loan to repair the damage to your engine.

i didnt say i run any vehicle, so i wont be going ahead as you suggest. my mate does run his van on cooking oil, [mixed with diesel] and will continue to do so. i have a duel fuel car. petrol and mpg. its clean and economical as well as being eco friendly. im sure your hubby does wonders with his bio fuels. but what will be done when the third world is starved off because corn and wheat acerage is killed off in favour of oil seed rape ? very bio friendly im sure. but humanity friendly ? not so convinced.

Some of the richest oil reserves in the world are THOUGHT to lie under the seabed around the Falklands. Companies have been prospecting there for years. But the sea is much deeper than in other areas where offshore oil is drilled, so the technical difficulties of extracting any oil that might be found would need to be overcome.

Whether possible oil reserves is anything to do with the propersed Ascension Island limit, I have no idea.

we colonised the falklands. we have no right to claim it, and we have no right to be there. the place would not be of any importance if there wasnt the hype about there being vast oil reserves there abouts. maggie hatcher rushed to save the falklands because it saved her political career, not only was she due to be dumped by her parliamentary enemies, but she was way past being able to fight the next election. [as brown is now] the war was a farce and was engineered to save her neck. and why are we in the iraqui situation ? oil oil and more oil.
i wonder how long it will be before the yanks just cruise in and we give them the falklands just so they can look after the people of course. and just in case the argentinians dare claim the islands back from those who stole it from them in the first place. [that will be britain then]
where theres oil, theres brass. where theres brass there are suits. and where there are suits there is corruption.

On the day that Former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic has refused to enter a plea to charges of war crimes at the UN tribunal in The Hague, I ask, can there be such a thing as a ‘War Crime’ when – as the saying goes – ALL is fair in love and war?
Karadzic counters that he is immune from prosecution under the terms of a deal made with former US peace envoy Richard Holbrooke..claims laughed at by Holbrooke, but whether truthful or no, can there be such a thing as a fair war? One man’s atrocity is another man’s victory.
Leaving aside the issue of Karadzic, is it preposterous to suggest that waging a war is morally correct but that acts of genocide within that war are repugnant?
What is the object of a war other than to impose and destroy all objections to that imposition?
    Why am I wittering on?
    Does anyone care?
    Help, doctor!

a good question. where do we draw the line in this case. is all fair in love and war. well it is if you are unfortunate enough to be on the front line having to kill or be killed. but… how come the polititions and warring army generals never even get close to the actual dirty end of their power and glory ambitions.
    strangeley as it seems.
when a man kills ten men he is a murderer, and a butcher. he is castigated and jailed.
when a man [or his soldiers] murder a million peole he is a man who will figure in the history books and be remembered. hitler, poll pot, mugabe etc.
and their ultimate aim is to get their name in the history books. so as long as we acknowlege these megolamaniacs the more they will continue to do these horrors.

Religion should be treated the same as politics. Religion should not be beyond criticism, and now that the blasphemy law that protected Christianity and (I think, Judaism) has been repealed, it’s open season for shooting down religious myths.

There is so much to criticise about religion as a whole and individual religions that it’s difficult to know where to begin! The reasons that religions are so touchy about criticism is because so many of their basic ‘truths’ don’t stand up to rational analysis, coupled to the fact that for many people, their religion is tied up with their identity and often their ethnicity too. Jews managed to tie their religion up with ethnicity quite successfully, as did Northern Ireland catholics (i.e. they weren’t of Scottish ancestry like most of the Prods) and muslims in the west can hide behind the ‘white on non-white’ racism barrier when it suits them.

Critiscism or ridicule of a religion is OK in itself as long as it doesn’t cross the line to become inciting hatred of people who follow that religion

Religions seem to reserve the word ‘truth’ to apply to their biggest lies. I am an atheist!!
Religious people can criticise atheism all they like (although that just highlights their irrationality) but that’s different from inciting hatred of atheists.

Lots of people have ‘sacred cows’ that are beyond reproach. Someone I know goes absolutely ballistic if anyone makes light of anything to do with Winston Churchill, like any pastiches of ‘never have so many……”

at last ! someone who could understand why i ! hate religion with such a passion. its legalised abuse and hatred. we wouldnt teach our children to kill in the name of any god if we were simply people instead of always hating and fearing people of other religion. because theyre all fairy tales anyway. or should i say horror stories of rape killing and burning alive. f.f.s
