already done that, the language setting is in english but every thing else is in german, all the icons the start bar and all the folders are labled german, i have had a look on a friends computer and it mentioned a unicode to change the version of vista to english is that right?

all the file is is an sqm data file that I cannot read. there is no extension to it but its annoying knowing that i cant get rid of it, it doesn’t affect the way the comp works but it would be nice to know how to shift it, i am running norton av but it doesn’t detect it, i have tried various apps to get rid. all help appreciated, by the way what is a macro?.

go for a wireless machine as they can be used in any room, i would suggest an acer for a first. laptop they are fairly priced and they have a good lifespan. Please dont look at any website or any mag or paper as they will confuse and they always try to sell. There are many laptops out there but it all depends on what u use it for, like i said go for wireless technology get a dvd rewriter and as much memory u can hard and virtual, the Acer 2420 is a good first machine as it is easy to understand, good luck hunting
