“Funny to think that uber took the moral highground “
See, even johhny thought it was funny lol
Actually its not funny at all, theres a big difference between laughing AT paedophillia, IE watching it on a video and tittering all the way through it and making fun OF paedophiles
But thats a moot point anyway as I would be interested to see how what was said was making light OF the act of paedophillia, what it was actually doing was pointing out a pretty factual point about paedos having networks rather than being solitary operators like rapists
Hardly the same thing, same topic, but not anything at all like making jokes about the act
However, I do know some quite hysterical thigh slappers about it if you are interested, let me know and I can mail em to ya if you want lol
12 May, 2007 at 5:35 pm #269844Oh yeah, and the days where it was never mentioned and nobody even bought it up in conversation were better then eh? lol
As for being an “accessory” haha, if you say so.
Humour is humour, and in no ways aids people being killed, molested, having cancer, being run over by a bus or being fat
Those things just happen all by themselves, you can either find the irony and humour in them or be a miserable git, its a choice
Infact try talking to people who work in professions where the worst excesses of human nature are commonplace and you will find that joking about “it” whatever it is will be pretty commonplace and is the only way many people in those jobs can cope with the abhorrent barbarity they see daily
And anyway, it was pretty much observational humour anyway, IE its pretty close to the truth so how you manage to make the massive leap in being judgemental from stating something thats pretty self evident to that statement being an active facilitator of an activity (which IS what youre snide comment was implying btw) is one that could surely only be made with the help of prozac or similar as it defies any sane logic
If you dont find it funny dont say it, dont laugh at it and dont join in, thats a freedom of choice and I am sure that things you DO find funny would be equally as unpallateable to me
But when you cross from simply not liking a particular type of humour into the realms of subtly implying that finding a type of humour funny equates to a support of or trivialisation of the actual act itself you are stepping outside the bounds of your own personal freedoms and are trying to impose your own personal preference onto others
12 May, 2007 at 11:29 am #267183I really do get a bit bored with this minority hugging whinging about slavery
Many of the slaves that were taken were collected by rival tribes who normally would have simply killed most of them and enslaved the rest, instead they started trading them to the slave traders which meant that many more lived than would have died otherwise, tribal cultures like the aftricans and the asians have used slaves for eons, the white man just came along and made it more organised and a money maker
This constant whinging about slavery is typical tree hugger nonsense, personally if you want to whinge to someone about it find a very VERY old graveyard, dig up a slavers corpse and whinge to them about it coz I personally couldnt give a flying
Its in the past, I didnt do it, the people who were enslaved were far more barbaric themselves anyway and in many cases it massively elongated their life as a result anyway so I personally will not ever feel guilty about something I didnt personally do and refuse to pander to minorities and minority huggers intent on trying to get some sense of self worth by constantly talkiing crap about things that arent relevant anymore
Every race, every country, ever society in the history of mankind pretty much has used slaves or servitude of one type or another so nobody has the right to criticise
Perhaps all this hot air would be better put to use tackling arranged marriages and female oppression which are both no better than slavery and are prevalent the world over instead of whining about things far off in the anals of history that cant be changed anyway?
Or might that be a bit too confusing as it would cause a conflict between slavery “bad” and culture “good”, bit a migraine for limp wristed minority hugging lefties that one innit?
12 May, 2007 at 11:17 am #269831Oh, and a “mistake” is testing bath water with the same hand too many times and it still being a bit hot or looking away for an instant and having your child fall over
Consciously and deliberately leaving them in a hotel room alone ISNT by any delusional stretching of the meaning of the word a “mistake” anywhere outside of an insane asylum#
Its a grossly irresponsible DECISION
Had they simply forgot they had 3 kids and didnt remember till they got home you could have tried to call that a “mistake”, but this isnt in any way shape or form simply a mistake, they made a choice, the choice was wrong and they deserve any criticism that it gets them as a result IMO
12 May, 2007 at 11:13 am #269830The thing is tho ABOM, that if someone pointed out it was a mistake I’d feel like shit for the oversight, probably a bit embarassed but thankfull someone pointed out the mistake and I’d try to learn from it. If like in this case something terrible had happened as a result then the criticism would still fell deserved because its STILL a mistake
When did our culture change into rewarding mistakes with platitudes and sympathy? That hardly makes the lesson learnt nor does it encourage dilligence in other people when the only outcome is attention
If you fuck up you should be told you fucked up, simple as, anything less isnt for the person who made the mistake, its self justification of existence for the pandering victim hugger
One of the biggest deterrants to make mistakes used to be the ear bashing you would get from everyone you know if you did, when you couldnt avoid it then it was just par for the course but still made you more careful to avoid making msitakes, especially silly ones in future
Currently we shower people in affection for making mistakes, tell them they did nothing wrong or it wasnt their fault when it was, or try to pursuade people tio walk on eggshells around them and then we wonder what happened to pride, common sense and personal responsibility in our kids haha, well if the parents have none of those and the kids grow up in a society that lacks them well DUH
Anyway, what exactly is WRONG with “judging”? The word is wheeled out by the feeble minded to avoid having to have a discussion or think, a “judgement” is a decision, a view, an opinion. Trying to taint it with a negative sounding word only confuses the terminally idiotic as it doesnt alter the thing your describing in the slightest just because you deem to call it a judgement every single person on the face of the planet makes judgements about every single person they meet, its an inherrent subconcious reflex and is totally unnavoidable, infact by you using the word judgement rather tha saying “why are you all voicing opinions and views” you are showing that you yourself have already made several “judgements” about the people posting which would make the question itself a bit hypocritical
But to answer it anyway, because we can, because its a genetic trait that cant be avoided, because it passes the time, because it SHOULD be done as its how a society learns and grows and forms social ideals on what is and isnt acceptable AND because its a flipping discussion board DUH, its kind of the point of the place
I’m sure there are touchy feel victim stroking boards on the net somewhere but they dont tend to cloud the issue by calling themselves discussion boards and having serious boards on them for people to then NOT have serious discussions on
I hope that help
11 May, 2007 at 4:51 pm #269815I would have thought the actor who played Len Fairclough in corrie, Garry Glitter or Michael Jackson making an appeal might have carried more weight lol, infact, all they would have probably needed to have done is consulted their phone book and made a few calls to close friends to have sorted it out lol
11 May, 2007 at 3:39 pm #269808Well, objectivity and being a realist arent all they’re cracked up to be anyway lol
11 May, 2007 at 1:35 pm #269805I’d steal you if you havent expanded since that pic was taken lol, hows your memory?
11 May, 2007 at 12:48 pm #269803Personally I think its wishful thinking that some childless couple would have stolen here considering the circumstances.
Had she gone missing at home then fairysnuff its an outside possibility, but the sort of child a childless couple ARE likely to steal is a baby, not a toddler as they are too hard to explain away and are old enough to open their mouths and show the scam up
