Being as serious as I can tho after several cans of lager
The wobbly earth theory is complete nonsense lol
Scientists ALREADY know what causes global warming and have done for centuries, it really isnt that much of a mystery
What ACTUALLY happens is the sun has its own patterns of going hot and cold, most clearly seen by sun spot activity
More sunspots means the earth gets hotter, a hotter earth means that with about an 800 year lag the temperature of the planet as an average increases and that in turn means more C02 as well as the by far biggest greenhouse gas of all WATER VAPOUR from the sea increases
When the suns sun spot actibvity decreases then blow and behold, as if by magic abotu 800 years later the average temperature of the planet cools again
Within those time frames clouds affect the amount of stellar radiation that is absorbed or reflected by the atmosphere, and that accounts for temperature variateions over smaller more noticeable time frames
this has all been known to be fact for decades in some parts and centuries in others
its only now that the entire subject is being redefined to suit political gains
Even the nonesense about mosquitos and malaria is nonsense, mosquitos populate the north pole already, and the biggest ever out break of malaria was in northern russia where 13 million people were infected and 600,000 died and its VERY cold there

8 June, 2007 at 9:01 pm #272821Well you dont HAVE to watch or even be a fan about something to respond to whats written on a message board
I can honestly say that I havent watched any decent amount of reality TV by choice in the last 5 years, I managed about 30 minutes of the first episode of this series before I fell asleep and about 15 minutes of the last non celeb series before I turned the TV off in disgust at the freaks beiing shown
So whether its dumbed down, scripted or not is irrelevant, chances are you’ve watched more of it than I have AND youre ALSO posting on the thread yourself
This topic isnt exclusively within the domain of reality TV, it raises points that apply to society at large, so the view that its ONLY about a reality TV show for freaks is actually the dumb view
8 June, 2007 at 8:56 pm #272961Seriously tho, the birds (winged but nor of the sanitary towel variety) actually sing all night now. not because of global warming, but because of light pollution, which is basically that we have SOOOOOO many street lights on at night thatb they are confused about night and day
Yet in chichester in west sussex I was knobbing a bird a while back (NOT the winged variety) and where she lived the street lights were still switched off at 1am, something I had never ever seen before being a midlander born and inbred
8 June, 2007 at 8:53 pm #272960Birds also wear shorter skirts, lower tops and feel hornier. so even if it IS true I wouldnt complain
8 June, 2007 at 6:57 pm #272818I think there is something that COULD be done actually, and its not really rocket science
We go back to what the meaning of “equality” used to mean before left wing academia got hold of it, we treat everyone of every colour the same and stamp out modern racism in the form of positive discrimination, favouritism of ethnic minorities and the like and let blacks decide whether NOBODY uses the word nigger or whether its used by all and the context its used in becomes relevant
Had it been a black person saying it there wouldnt have been a reaction at all, that IS however its dressed up racism
And yet isnt racism supposed to be a bad thing and equality a good one?
8 June, 2007 at 6:36 pm #273021Well I for one dont want to see paris hilton on my tv screen
Bent over my dining room table with legs invitingly parted I might get excited about, but on telly? Nah!
8 June, 2007 at 6:22 pm #272957Millions?
Isnt it billions that are led by politics?
8 June, 2007 at 6:03 pm #272815Well the point they are DIFFERENT blacks is both irrelevant and important at the same time
Unless the same left wing do gooders are ALSO going to jump all over blacks for doing it AND unless blacks are going to be JUST as offended when other blacks use the word then as i said, to object when someone white does in the same context IS racism and IS showing preferential treatment to blacks
Infact the word is splattered all over hollywood films and TV shows anyway, so thats a mass market portrayal of the word being an ordinary everyday word
So its really splitting hairs to try and claim that who you heard using it makes a difference because it doesnt, its seen and heard used frequently within the media anyway which is known to influence language AND has a part to play in language as its used shown very clearly by the “whatever” and “do I look bovered miss” phrases to name just two from the catherine tate show
So before minority cuddling tofu eating apologists start criticising ordinary people they should first tackle the cause not the symptom

Never mind the fact that what you’ve seen the other person do might not be seen as acceptable.
But the “who” she probably saw doing it is quite critical really isnt it?
If the ONLY people someone could copy the use of that word off were other honkies then its a valid point, but thats far removed from the case is it? Someone whos a “wanna be” black is far more likely to be copying it from proper blacks
Lets flip it to something more a clear for you
Lets suppose you DID have a problem with someone calling you a spastic
How differently do you think other people would react to your complaint about someone using that term if
a) you frequently used it yourself to refer to yourself and other disabled people
and ]
b) if you never ever used the word yourself
Two very very different scenarios that I think would evoke two very different reactions
