Banned again because of some megalomaniac chat guide on a power trip… there will be no one left soon , just a few coffin dodgers talking about going to the bingo and what their favourite colour is. View
Actually it was posted to your buddy who made the claim that “even commentators say it”, yes they do say it all right, all men of course. Secondly I am still laughing how you cherry pick the sports men dominate then argue (totally contradicting yourself) that some sports are more suited to women so they don’t count. Olympic sports I might add. Rather amusing.
I don;t have or want “buddys ” online and as stated earlier by Reason people can disagree or agree on various issues . I don’t think ” oh there is person x” so that means I must disagree for life or vice versa.. I don;t do online cliques and post my views regardless of what others think. It seems to be a common trait online where people take a stance based on the person rather than the view, one I don’t share. If someone posts something I agree with or disagree with, it doesn’t matter if I “get on with them or not” but clearly you prefer a playground type mentality where once divided it means all views must come down on the right side… I grew out of that mode of thinking 20 years ago yet when you lose a debate you resort to the usual tactic of arguing the poster rather than the person which is evident again due to another demolition where I’m afraid you have been found wanting.
Name a sport which can be measured in quantifiable measurements such as time/distance/postions where women beat men instead of vague references to my statements being inaccurate.
Snooker, pool, and darts are sports that I would expect women would be able to play equally as well as men, but they are things that women don’t seem to have much interest in playing so it would be hard to find numbers for this.
Norfolk stated men are superior than women in ALL sports. Then moved the goal posts as to what that sport actually entailed. Gymnastics, shooting, equestrian, ice skating no doubt more and all Olympic sports where men are NOT superior at all.
As drac as said , women are incapable in gymnastics in many disciplines of performing the same routines as men. This is evidenced by the different olympic routines which are more power orientated for the latter. Using equestrian as an eg which amounts to sitting on a horse as evidence of the two sexes being equal is scraping the barrel to say the least. Ice skating is as female orientated as snooker is to males so an unfair comparison- even then there is no data to show women can compete with and beat men. The reality is in practically every sport there is, men out perform women whether people like Arc accept it or not.. there’s no point continually arguing the earth is flat when the evidence shows otherwise to try to win an argument that’s unwinnable.
Drac didn’t say anything other than post her googled information. If and when she posts the links I will read them and then I will give my own opinion. Don’t jump on her argument just because it is far more persuasive than yours. OK. Edit. Oh and btw the way, you have already stated men are superior in EVERY sport, please don’t slyly change it to “practically every sport” now. Thanks.
There isn’t a single sport that doesn’t involve an animal or machine where women outperform men… you clearly can’t read evidently. You then use equestrian and shooting as examples- last time I checked equestrian involves sitting on an animal which does all the work or perhaps you think the contestants crawl around on all fours which seems to be your intent given your crawling to carry favour on here.
The same could apply for formula one racing.. there are no women able to compete against men. Is this down to inferior hand to eye co ordination or lack of numbers- impossible to say.
I openly laugh at you Norfolk, really I do, I think that particular issue has been well publicized recently and the news obviously did not reach Norfolk did it. I also laugh how you constantly move the goal posts to suit your argument. It really is pointless trying to have a grown up debate with you, isn’t it. Which I knew anyway from past experience so silly me for thinking otherwise.
You talk about “grown up debates” but I’m not the one posting silly smiley icons at the end of every passage designed to antagonise. I’m not the one that can’t back up my points with facts instead of some wishy washy ideological notion that both sexes are equal in sport when all the evidence points to the contrary. As usual you are losing the debate and resorting to vague cliches to hide your embarrassment which is a common trait I’ve noticed from you.
The BBC commentator and former tennis player Andrew Castle has risked sparking another Wimbledon sexism row after making comments about the appearance of the girlfriend of Brit-of-the-moment Marcus Willis. The broadcast remarks triggered a wave of outrage on social media, including some who labelled the broadcaster “creepy” and “sexist”. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2016/jun/30/bbc-wimbledon-andrew-castle-marcus-willis-girlfriend-sexism Swedish swimmer Sarah Sjostrom just broke her own world record in the 100m butterfly? Great! When, NBC wanted to know, would she do the samba on the beach? While the sexism has been particularly noticeable on American TV, the BBC is not exempt. Its commentator attracted ire when he called the Judo match in which Majlinda Kelmendi won Kosovo’s first-ever medal a “catfight”. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/politics/olympic-sized-perverts/ Last weekend, Indian Wells tournament CEO, Raymond Moore, sparked controversy when he described female tennis players as riding “on the coat-tails of the men”. “If I was a lady player,” he remarked to BBC, “I’d go down every night on my knees and thank God that Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal were born, because they have carried this sport. They really have”. Earlier today, Moore left his position over the comments. https://i-d.vice.com/en_gb/article/serena-williams-shuts-down-sexist-tennis-commentators Andy Gray has been sacked by Sky Sports over his string of shameful sexist outbursts. The TV pundit was suspended after his controversial comments aimed at female assistant referee Sian Massey.
The incoming BBC head of news and current affairs has said that John Inverdale’s comments about Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli’s personal appearance were wrong. James Harding said Inverdale had to take ownership of what he said and apologise to the tennis player. The BBC has received almost 700 complaints in the hours after the veteran Inverdale said Bartoli “was never going to be a looker” on Radio 5 Live ahead of the game. https://www.theguardian.com/media/2013/jul/09/john-inverdale-marion-bartoli-bbc
Tumaini Carayol says there is a sexism issue at Wimbledon: the women lighting up the game still don’t get the credit or recognition that their efforts deserve.
All of this quoted article proves nothing, you are taking a few ignorant comments and using it as evidence that women are equal to men physically in sports and should get paid the same for competing in matches that last on average 60% of the time. Where is the evidence that women can beat men in the sports you have mentioned and what has Andy Gray got to do with anything? Of course sexism exists, but it also works both ways and have listened to many females lambasting the male species with “they are all bastards” type views over the years which is irrelevant to what we are discussing. Racism also exists , so if black players were told they could only play 3 sets instead of 5 as they are so apparently “persecuted” that would be acceptable as well and anyone saying it was unfair would be racist as anyone on here is sexist for their views?
I sail on no ones boat, unlike you obviously crawling round the women with your views on this thread trying to gain favour – bit sickly to say the least. So because I have had a disagreement with Norfolk in the past I should disagree with everything he says? That’s a bit pathetic to say the least. Pick up on one point on this thread that I have made where you can prove me wrong.
Lol. So your logic is my views of female tennis and sport it general is because I am “crawling around women”. You just don’t get it do you, not all men share your prehistoric views. I don’t need to disprove anything. You have already openly stated that in mixed doubles women are the weakest link and alluded they are therefore carried by men. Quite frankly blatant sexism. You clearly do not understand the nuances of mixed doubles. You clearly view sport and judge it in exactly the same way as your sidekick. It really is as simple as that. In my opinion, which of course carries no more weight than yours or anyone elses.
There’s nothing sexist about stating biological facts… what part of women are biologically physically weaker and slower than men can’t you get your head around?
Name a sport which can be measured in quantifiable measurements such as time/distance/postions where women beat men instead of vague references to my statements being inaccurate.

I can barely think of a single sport that doesn’t rely on speed/power/endurance of which testosterone is a facet of so that narrows it down to a tiny number meaning male dominance across the entire sporting spectrum. Gymnastics /ice skating really is clutching at straws as whilst the females are talented, it’s an artistic sport with ability being judged on presentation/ appearance/execution but even in gymnastics they have different routines with vaults at differing heights due to strength differences etc. If gliding round the ice is the best example of competing at similar levels , it’s a fairly weak argument.
It is not a weak argument at all, in fact it fits in with what my argument would be if it wasn’t 1am and I wasn’t knackered. Why should “tennis” be centered around men and male prowess and so called physical superiority and dominance. For example I read an article that the female game in tennis is poles apart than the male game. They could be two totally different games according to this article. The female game being slower but far more tactical. (this was before the William sisters) If that is the case, at the top level, then women are clearly under far more psychological stress than men because they are making far more decisions and snap judgments in a game than a man and as such, should be rewarded for it. Lastly, to suggest gymnastics eg is based solely on “artistic merit” is clearly inaccurate, a hugely physical demanding sport, but even so, why should artistic merit etc not count in sport, dominated by grunting men in a male dominated society and sport which favors that so called male physical dominance and going back to what Mister said, why is it that there are not top level female snooker players, quite clearly there are other issues as to why not and absolutely nothing to do with men being superior.
What do you mean by stating ” why should tennis be surrounded by physical superiority”. The fact is every single male professional tennis player would wipe the floor with the greatest female tennis player that has ever lived so of course physical power comes into it which is illustrated by the ace count for eg on the male serve. In male tennis breaking the serve is notoriously difficult but womens tennis relies less on power. The argument isn’t which is easier on the eye, the argument is who would win if both genders competed against each other and the power would win out every time. Implying women are under ” more psychological pressure than men because they play slower “is laughable and can’t tell if that’s supposed to be a serious comment or not.
At the end of the day…sport is very big business…..not only in money sense but in national pride. There are also factors these days like the surge of women wanting equal pay rights which is fair in it’s self but has got some how lost in the political, media and business propaganda that keeps fueling this debate. High end sport has always been government and nationally invested in and cashed in on by big business with sponsor-ships, merchandising. The equal pay right has fair issues but is more of a movement about women’s rights than a simple query about pay structure. All top athletes and sports stars are incredibly rich. Most don’t need all the money they got already so the fighting over the extra few million they could have had is not really about the money. I mean you got black people fighting for rights, gay people fighting for rights, women fighting for rights. today’s world is all about fighting for rights and it’s true with tennis, as much as other things, the rules don’t always makes sense. Here’s an interesting question……….why arent there many women playing snooker…after all its a big sport…lots of money in it. There are women referres so why isnt there more of a call for female snooker players?
It’s an interesting comment regarding snooker as that’s a sport which requires no physical advantage yet women don’t or won;t compete which could be more to do with it being a more male orientated sport as not many women play the game. The same could apply for formula one racing.. there are no women able to compete against men. Is this down to inferior hand to eye co ordination or lack of numbers- impossible to say.
If men work 5 days in an office, women work 3.. what company would pay the same rate to both?
Possibly they would be the same rate but pro rata as in most jobs. In life you are generally paid for the hours you work so you have blown your own argument out of the water. Quite obviously a director / manager in fact every one employed gets paid the same rate or should do if they are at the same level. As the majority of sports prize money is corrupt why are you just singling out tennis? Deuce !
Your points don’t make any sense. As you say pro rata , so as the average mens match lasts longer in tournaments like wimbledon why should pay rates be the same ..” game set and match” you have just argued my case for me. We are discussing tennis as that is the topic, would you go on every thread and say why are we discussing X Y and Z because the thread was directed to a specific topic? No thread can encapsulate every topic known to man can it? In life as you say people are generally paid for the hours they work and during a tournament like wimbledon the men work more hours as they need to win more sets to progress yet you argue the merits of equal pay which goes against the whole gist of your own post
None so blind that don’t want to see …… which brings me back to one of my original statements. Your views are sexist – that old chestnut men are worth more. As usual your comments are blinkered & aggressive. YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS !! lol
It’s only complete ignorance from someone as intrinsically stupid as you that would revert to ” sexist ” comments when stating every world record for men is faster than women which is a fact. You need to educate yourself on human biology instead of coming out with this diatribe of crap
