But we already have a two tier system for catholics, jews, jehovahs witness, methodists etc
I don’t like the idea it but it’s difficult to argue that if you have a catholic confessional whihc dishes out hail mary’s for your sins that a sharia court can’t tell a man how to best spend his money?

In Germany they still have to do 9 months military service, and they dont appear to have half the problems with their teens as we do……just a thought, I dont pretend to be an authority.We couldnt do that here- the lovable little scro/tes would claim it infringes their human rights
As for stop and search- actually- if the Met undertook a massive publicity campaign that undercover officers would be starting continuous stop and search drives AND anyone found with a knife received an immediate 2 year jail sentence..I bet it would soon die down
But then again, the lovvies will claim stop and search infringes human rights too

They don’t HAVE to give the job to a woman or ethnic minority (interestingly you chose “non white” when the term is ethnic minority which INCLUDES white non British- not that you’d let facts get in the way of a good story)- it is not about qualifications- it is about the overall interview
BUT, as someone who has recruited over 40 staff in the last two years, I don’t need a law to tell how to manage an interview- the best person for the job gets it- simple as

ERR- NO he didnt say anything like that (not that you’d let facts get in the way of a good story)- he said aspects of familial sharia law could be used to resolve aspects of domestic dispute, just as aspects of Jewish law, Jehovahs Wintess, Catholic law etc are used in other communities BUT he said ANY sanctions issued could only come from British law

As for point 2- simple- sack the teacher involved if she doesnt see it as a mistake- inmcompetence isnt difficult to root out if dealt with quickly

The Western world relies on fossil fuel, the majority of which is produced by countries who don’t like the West- it affects our basic standard of living- food, heating and transport costs- basic societal building blocks- it is not difficult to see one scenario of a society slowing imploding as people cannot afford to heat their houses, feed themselves or move about the country.

That is my argument Wasp- if 16 or 17 white teenagers had been murdered this year in one city, the reaction would have been different. In fact several of those murdered have been innocent bystanders but the one I would vouch we all remember is the lad in the bakery- the white lad
You are right though- most of it is black on black and just as they do not view their lives as worthwhile, neither do the government
Effective deterrnt requires an entire overhaul of the sentencing guidelines though- you can’t say 10 years minimum for carrying a knife when you only get 4 years for manslaughter!

What interests me (and blows much of the likes of EmmaLush’s arguments out of the water)- 16 out of 17 of these murders are on black kids; IF there had been 17 murders on white kids in London this year, do you think the press coverage would have been different?
It is very very tragic and the government seem stricken with inertia
