So sorry Sir Actor if my referring to Ms Goody by her first name is deemed inappropriate.

It wasn’t inappropriate, just an indicator of how much time you spend watching TV.

Banter is allowed, but within reason…

Ooooh gossip…..Reason and Banter……is Banter male or female by the way?

You need to work on your delivery a bit more.

Mine needs delivering in about 5 minutes please. I’ve got the right money.

I’d wager there are others of the same ilk, we both know not all of the women are vunerable or sensitive, their virtuousness is their business, I neither know nor wish to know

Pete boarded the train. His faithful manservant, Passepartout knew the journey ahead was going to be a long one…..

I was getting a Kebab last night on my way back home, and as I waited I noticed a copy of The Sun on the counter. Right across the front page was a piccy of Jade Goody. Being a curious sort of chap, I read the article inside.

I have to confess that, in the light of this two page spread, my gross cynicism may well have been misplaced and that judging from the photos and long detailed article, the poor girl sure appears to be terminal. It was a pretty heart rending story that’s for sure.

Interesting that the entire tone of the article was most compassionate towards her – whereas The Sun’s previous stance was one of insult and derision.

In one sense, I hope that my gross cynicism is right, because if so then she won’t die an unpleasant death. However I have to admit that is doesn’t look good for her.

Well, either way she is a bit of a character and a lot of people are soon going to be very sad or absolutely furious.

I’m not sure what worries me most here: the fact you need to mention your kebab on this thread or that you didn’t realise – until you read it in The Sun – that yes, she is going to die and that your cynicism was indeed misplaced.

I agree with Reason, your comments re Jade are callous, I find them offensive and ignorant….I only thank god we didn’t bump into anyone like you on our little outings.

Do you mean Jade Goody….or did she become just “Jade” all of a sudden?

You’ve expressed an opinion and that’s fair enough, but why do you have to resort to personal insults to quantify your views? I feel sympathy towards Ms Goody of course I do, but that sympathy – with the wall to call coverage of her illness – is wearing slightly thin right now.

Please – by all means, express an opinion – but do it without the insults. There’s no need and If I can do it, I’m sure you can.

Yes … thank you for the linguistics lesson Sir Actor, i think that we’ve all got the point.

Well done for bringing this simple mistake to everybody’s attention.

Women on message boards will always be seen as virtuous, sensitive and vulnerable creatures.
Men, by comparison, are nasty and vindictive who are obsessive in their bullying and pursuit of women.

I’m sure Dawny will appreciate you metaphorically throwing your coat down for her.

But, come on come on Charles….I”m sure you have one or two handy tips for message board users, after all you keep telling about your “many, many years of experience” of perusing these forums don’t you?

Learn that similar sounding words, like “poison” and “poisson” have totally separate meanings.

Aren’t you just using political correctness (the quality of conformity to social expectations)to say to people “Look at me….I care, but he doesn’t”?

Bearing that in mind can I just ask why Jade Goody feels the need to be confined to a wheelchair so much? Has she had her legs amputated or is she just badly in need of our attention?
Yes, I read that she has cancer – and so does Patrick Swayze – but I can’t help wondering why – via the media – we are required to pour out our emotions quite so emphatically for Ms Goody.

I dare say that the sufferers react differently to cancer in varying degrees, both mentally and physically.

ffs this is a callous thread to start.

Why is it callous….is she a personal friend of yours?
