Dear God, Please Help Me
I am walking through Rome
With my heart on a stringDear God, please help me
And I am so very tired
Of doing the right thingDear God, please help me
There are explosive kegs
Between my legsDear God
Please help meWill you follow and know
Know me more than you do
Track me down
And try to win me?Then he motions to me
With his hand on my knee
Dear God, did this kind of thing happen to You?Now I’m spreading your legs
With mine in-between
Dear God, if I could I would help youAnd now I am walking through Rome
And there is no room to move
But the heart..
Feels free
The heart feels free
The heart feels free
But the heart..
Feels free
The heart feels free
The heart feels free
But the heart..
Feels free
The heart feels free
The heart feels free
But the heart..

16 April, 2006 at 2:43 am #139129Hold On My Heart
Hold on my heart
Just hold on to that feeling
We both know we’ve been here before
We both know what can happen
Hold on my heart
Cos I’m looking over your shoulder
Oh please don’t rush in this time
Don’t show her how you feel
Hold on my heart
Throw me a lifeline
I’ll keep a place for you
Somewhere deep inside
So hold on my heart
Please tell her to be patient
Cos there has never been a time
That I wanted something moreIf I can recall this feeling
And I know there’s a chance
Oh I will be there
Yes I will be there
Be there for you
Whenever you want me to
Whenever you call oh I will be there
Yes I will be thereHold on my heart
Don’t let her see you crying
No matter where I go
She’ll always be with me
So hold on my heart
Just hold on to that feeling
We both know we’ve been here before
We both know what can happen
So hold on my heart
Just hold on my heart
I’m gonna hold on to that heart
Hold on
Just hold on..Genesis

Nobody knows what human life is
Why we come
Why we go
So why then do I know
I will see you
I will see you
In far off places? The heart knows why I grieve
And yes one day I will close my eyes forever
But I will see you
I will see you
In far off placesIt’s so easy for us to sit together
But it’s so hard for our hearts to combine
And
Why?
And why?
Why?
Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?Destiny for some is to save lives
But destiny for some is to end lives
But there is no end
And I will see you
In far off placesIf your God bestows protection upon you
And if the USA doesn’t bomb you
I believe I will see you somewhere safe
Looking to the camera
Messing around
And pulling faces…MORRISSEY
13 April, 2006 at 10:36 pm #209380:) … Arggh what a dubious title James!!.. But yes, tis my scribbling, with a bit of tweaking from memory and chance concerning dear old Sam.. I am a huge fan
19 March, 2006 at 2:53 am #185237Many congratulations to France on bagging the Six Nations Championship!.. A fine team with a clinical attacking ethos.. well deserved!!
But essentially England and Ireland saved this tournament today… a massive match.. exciting, entertaining, passionate! A wounded English power roared against a dogged Irish persistence.. wonderful entertainment.
Rugby is far less the investment in Ireland that it is in England. Far less the physical spectacle. Far less the pomp and ceremony. Granted, We are not World Champions (as your “humble” press and media constantly reminded today)
Unlike England, Ireland had little more than their 15 man pool today. It took till the last minute to prove our worth. It usually does with us :?Thank you to the World Champions… it takes a Champion performance to beat you … Three times.. in a row..
Triple..
Crown!!Great match!

ALTHOUGH I can see him still.
The freckled man who goes
To a grey place on a hill
In grey Connemara clothes
At dawn to cast his flies,
It’s long since I began
To call up to the eyes
This wise and simple man.
All day I’d looked in the face
What I had hoped ‘twould be
To write for my own race
And the reality;
The living men that I hate,
The dead man that I loved,
The craven man in his seat,
The insolent unreproved,
And no knave brought to book
Who has won a drunken cheer,
The witty man and his joke
Aimed at the commonest ear,
The clever man who cries
The catch-cries of the clown,
The beating down of the wise
And great Art beaten down.
Maybe a twelvemonth since
Suddenly I began,
In scorn of this audience,
Imagining a man,
And his sun-freckled face,
And grey Connemara cloth,
Climbing up to a place
Where stone is dark under froth,
And the down-turn of his wrist
When the flies drop in the stream;
A man who does not exist,
A man who is but a dream;
And cried, ‘Before I am old
I shall have written him one
poem maybe as cold
And passionate as the dawn.’William Butler Yeats

I recall that tour too Mary_J… It came to Dublin on a very stormy night in the Summer of 86. The Irish band in question were called In Tua Nua.. a sort of Corr’s prototype .. Twas a grand gig :)
ps.. Huge fan of “THE BREAKFAST CLUB” too btw  .. I found the bizarre female leads (Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy) curiously attractive  … :? …. The 80s were a verrrrrrrrrrrry strrrrrrrrrrange time :-s

6 March, 2006 at 11:12 am #195817I would certainly recommend last night’s Oscar winning “CRASH” kentlass. A first class multi-layered film that has a wide range of things going for it.
Also recently released on DVD… “CINDERELLA MAN”.. a slightly treacley affair from Ron Howard that is nonetheless elevated to greatness by the awesome Russell Crowe.
And from the retro pile… “SIDEWAYS”.. A wonderfully intelligent and witty romp that gets better every time you watch it.
