Thank You
How about getting off of these antibiotics
How about stopping eating when I’m full up
How about them transparent dangling carrots
How about that ever elusive kudo
Thank you India
Thank you terror
Thank you disillusionment
Thank you frailty
Thank you consequence
Thank you
Thank you silenceHow about me not blaming you for everything
How about me enjoying the moment for once
How about how good it feels to finally forgive you
How about grieving it all one at a time
Thank you India
Thank you terror
Thank you disillusionment
Thank you frailty
Thank you consequence
Thank you
Thank you silenceThe moment I let go of it was the moment I got more than I could handle
The moment I jumped off of it was the moment I touched downHow about no longer being masochistic
How about remembering your divinity
How about unabashedly bawling your eyes out
How about not equating death with stopping
Thank you India
Thank you providence
Thank you disillusionment
Thank you nothingness
Thank you clarity
Thank you
Thank you silenceyeah yeah…

15 May, 2006 at 9:33 pm #139178Leonard Cohen was born in 1934 in Montreal, Canada.
For almost 40 years this singer/songwriter has consistently produced the most fantastic music.. inspiring many artists both past and present. This tune’s formal and simplistic air coupled with it’s remarkable lyrics is a perfect example of the man’s genius..
TAKE THIS WALTZ
Now in Vienna there’s ten pretty women
There’s a shoulder where Death comes to cry
There’s a lobby with nine hundred windows
There’s a tree where the doves go to die
There’s a piece that was torn from the morning
And it hangs in the Gallery of Frost
Ay, Ay, Ay, Ay
Take this waltz
Take this waltz
Take this waltz with the clamp on its jawsOh I want you, I want you, I want you
On a chair with a dead magazine
In the cave at the tip of the lily
In some hallway where love’s never been
On our bed where the moon has been sweating
In a cry filled with footsteps and sand
Ay, Ay, Ay, Ay
Take this waltz
Take this waltz
Take its broken waist in your handThis waltz, this waltz, this waltz, this waltz
With its very own breath of brandy and Death
Dragging its tail in the seaThere’s a concert hall in Vienna
Where your mouth had a thousand reviews
There’s a bar where the boys have stopped talking
They’ve been sentenced to death by the blues
Ah but who is it climbs to your picture
With a garland of freshly cut tears?
Ay, Ay, Ay, Ay
Take this waltz
Take this waltz
Take this waltz it’s been dying for yearsThere’s an attic where children are playing
Where I’ve got to lie down with you soon
In a dream of Hungarian lanterns
In the mist of some sweet afternoon
And I’ll see what you’ve chained to your sorrow
All your sheep and your lilies of snow
Ay, Ay, Ay, Ay
Take this waltz
Take this waltz
With it’s “I’ll never forget you, you know!”This waltz, this waltz, this waltz, this waltz …
With it’s very own breath of brandy and Death
Dragging it’s tail in the seaAnd I’ll dance with you in Vienna
I’ll be wearing a river’s disguise
The hyacinth wild on my shoulder
My mouth on the dew of your thighs
And I’ll bury my soul in a scrapbook
With the photographs there and the moths
And I’ll yield to the flood of your beauty
My cheap violin and my cross
And you’ll carry me down on your dancing
To the pools that you lift on your wrist
Oh my love
Oh my love
Take this waltz
Take this waltz
It’s yours now..
It’s all that there is..LEONARD COHEN

I wanna trip inside your head
Spend the day there
To hear the things you haven’t said
And see what you might seeI wanna hear you when you call
Do you feel anything at all?
I want to see your thoughts take shape
And walk right outFreedom has a scent
Like the top of a new born baby’s headThe songs are in your eyes
I see them when you smile
I’ve seen enough I’m not giving up
On a miracle drugOf science and the human heart
There is no limit
There is no failure here sweetheart
Just when you quitI am you and you are mine
Love makes nonsense of space
And time…will disappear
Love and logic keep us clear
Reason is on our side
Love…The songs are in your eyes
I see them when you smile
I’ve had enough of romantic love
I’d give it up, yeah I’d give it up
For a miracle
A miracle drug
A miracle drugGod I need your help tonight
Beneath the noise
Below the din
I hear your voice
It’s whispering
In science and in medicine
“I was a stranger
You took me in”The songs are in your eyes
I see them when you smile
I’ve had enough of romantic love
Yeah I’d give it up
Yeah I’d give it up
For a miracle

Salty river
Falls asleep in the bay
Always gets there
Never early, never lateNothing’s happening
Nothing’s happening by the sea
YeahWhite waves tumble down
And gently roll back into blue
On wooden seats outside the bar
The couples make their rendezvousNothing’s happening
Nothing’s happening by the seaThe trouble has been found
There’s too far ups and too many downs
I found a level that feels just right
There’s no mistaking where I’m going tonightSure nothing’s happening
Oh nothing’s happening by the seaNothing’s happening
Nothing’s happening by the sea..Chris Rea

Come you masters of war
You that build the big guns
You that build the death planes
You that build all the bombs
You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masksYou that never done nothin’
But build to destroy
You play with my world
Like it’s your little toy
You put a gun in my hand
And you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run farther
When the fast bullets flyLike Judas of old
You lie and deceive
A world war can be won
You want me to believe
But I see through your eyes
And I see through your brain
Like I see through the water
That runs down my drainYou fasten all the triggers
For the others to fire
Then you sit back and watch
When the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion
While the young people’s blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mudYou’ve thrown the worst fear
That can ever be hurled
Fear to bring children
Into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unnamed
You ain’t worth the blood
That runs in your veinsHow much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say that I’m young
You might say I’m unlearned
But there’s one thing I know
Though I’m younger than you
That even Jesus would never
Forgive what you doLet me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soulAnd I hope that you die
And your death’ll come soon
I will follow your casket
By the pale afternoon
And I’ll watch while you’re lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I’ll stand over your grave
‘Til I’m sure that you’re deadBob Dylan

People say we got it made
Don’t they know we’re so afraid
IsolationWe’re afraid to be alone
Everybody got to have a home
IsolationJust a boy and a little girl
Trying to change the whole wide world
IsolationThe world is just a little town
Everybody trying to put us down
IsolationI don’t expect you
To understand
After you’ve caused
So much pain
But then again
You’re not to blame
You’re just a human
A victim of the insaneWe’re afraid of everyone
Afraid of the sun
IsolationThe Sun will never disappear
But the world may not have many years
IsolationJohn Lennon
