Woman In Chains
You better love loving and you better behave
You better love loving and you better behave
Woman in Chains
Woman in ChainsCalls her man the Great White Hope
Says she’s fine, she’ll always cope
Oh Woman in Chains
Woman in Chains
Well I feel
Lying and waiting is a poor man’s deal
A poor man’s deal
And I feel
Hopelessly weighed down by your eyes of steel
Your eyes of steel
Well it’s a world gone crazy
Keeps Woman in ChainsWoman in Chains
Woman in ChainsTrades her soul as skin and bones
You better love loving and you better behave
Sells the only thing she owns
You better love loving and you better behave
Oh Woman in Chains.. sun and the moon
Woman in ChainsMen of stone
Men of stone
Oh no..Well I feel
Deep in your heart there are wounds time can’t heal
That time can’t heal
And I feel
Somebody somewhere is trying to breathe
Well you know what I mean
It’s a world gone crazy
Keeps Woman in ChainsIt’s under my skin but out of my hands
I’ll tear it apart but I won’t understand
I will not accept the Greatness of Man
It’s a world gone crazy
Keeps Woman in Chains
Gone crazy keeps Woman in ChainsSo Free Her…
The sun and the moon..
The wind and the rain..So Free Her

The gap that grows between our lives
The gap our parents never had
Stop those thoughts control your mind
Replace the things that you despise
Oh you’re old I hear you say
It doesn’t mean that I don’t care
I don’t believe in it anymore
Pathetic acts for a worthless causeIn the beginning when we were winning
When our smiles were genuineBut now unforgiven the everlasting
EverlastingThe world is full of refugees
They’re just like you and just like me
But as people we have a choice
To end the void with all its force
So don’t forget or don’t pretend
It’s all the same now in the end
It was set in a different life
Destroys my days and haunts my nightsIn the beginning when we were winning
When our smiles were genuineBut now unforgiven the everlasting
EverlastingIn the beginning when we were winning
When our smiles were genuineBut now unforgiven the everlasting

This song was released in 1985.The Island
They say the skies of Lebanon are burning
Those mighty cedars bleeding in the heat
They’re showing pictures on the television
Women and children dying in the street
And we’re still at it in our own place
Still trying to reach the future through the past
Still trying to carve tomorrow from a tombstone…But Hey don’t listen to me!
‘Cause this wasn’t meant to be no sad song
We’ve heard too much of that before
Right now I only want to be here with you
Till the morning dew comes falling
I want to take you to the island
And trace your footprints in the sand
And in the evening when the sun goes down
We’ll make love to the sound of the oceanThey’re raising banners over by the markets
Whitewashing slogans on the shipyard walls
Witchdoctors praying for a mighty showdown
No way our holy flag is gonna fall
Up here we sacrifice our children
To feed the worn-out dreams of yesterday
And teach them dying can lead them into glory…But hey don’t listen to me
‘Cause this wasn’t meant to be no sad song
I’ve sung too much of that before
Right now I only want to be here with you
Till the morning dew comes falling
I want to take you to the island
And trace your footprints in the sand
And in the evening when there’s no one around
We’ll make love to the sound of the oceanNow I know us plain folks don’t see all the story
And I know this peace and love is just copping out
And I guess these young boys dying in the ditches
Is just what being free is all about
And how this twisted wreckage down on main street
Will bring us all together in the end
And we’ll go marching down the road to freedom…

It is every bit as good as (if not better than) their sparkling debut … Once again graced with elegant melodies and arrangements, and powerful vocals and lyrics! This is the opening track… A truly amazing song..Atlantic
I hope all my days will be lit by your face
I hope all the years will hold tight our promises
I don’t want to be old and sleep alone
An empty house is not a home
I don’t want to be old and feel afraidI don’t want to be old and sleep alone
An empty house is not a home
I don’t want to be old and feel afraidAnd if I need anything at all
I need a place that’s hidden in the deep
Where lonely angels sing you to your sleep
Though all the world is broken
I need a place where I can make my bed
A lover’s lap where I can lay my head
‘Cause now the room is spinning

In the broad daylight of a Summer’s day
On the Cork to Dublin motorway
Suddenly the singing birds
Were startled in their song
In the silence of that moment
Our world went out of kilter
In that split second
Veronica was goneBut you will never silence her
Your story will be written down
Her spirit won’t rest easy
Until her job is done
Though with fists and boots you broke her bones
You gunned her down at home
But as soon as she was able
She faced you up againVeronica

I offer you this songAnd you who made the phone call
And you who took the message down
And you who hired the hit men
You who hatched the plan
And you who drew the money down
And you who paid it over
And you who remain silent
You are guilty.. every oneVeronica

Hope you put your money on them back in December
Fantastic game – brilliant result :P Magnifico !!! :D/
Actually Poshlove, at one stage in between the FOUR times I mentioned that the Azzurri would perform exceedingly well in the competition 8) I did manage to occasion a little flutter :P … An extravagant Five Euro bet was placed at odds of 10-1 on the Italians just before the tournament started :o
I sincerely hope France grace the final too though…
Both teams have improved dramatically in their last two matches…
A worthy final to look forward to… I hope :)
2 July, 2006 at 3:30 pm #223573Well.. I would love to know what inspired souls voted for FRANCE at the outset of this poll :)
(Or are they sneaky ones recently registered? lol)
I did say Italy all along – as far back as Dec 05 actually… https://www.justchat.co.uk/boards/viewtopic.php?t=6771
But methinks for the sake and glory of The Beautiful Game a French triumph would be most welcome!
1 July, 2006 at 11:09 pm #227778I agree.. France were sensational tonight! The best performance in this World Cup so far.. by a mile.
Zidane was majestic… awesome stuff!
Makelele and Viera were immense.. doubling up, protecting the back four, nullifying any hint of a Brazilian threat. What a miraculous transformation!!!!!!
Judging by this and their performance against Spain.. they deserve to win the World Cup.. I hope they do now!
1 July, 2006 at 1:14 pm #225113Best of luck to England today :)
I’m sure all (save only the most myopic partisan) would agree that the team have yet to deliver any form of consistently decent performance. They have been – to use an ill constructed oxymoron – amazingly ordinary.
Yet despite such splutters and stumbles, and thanks to a ludicrously easy draw.. here they stand.. One game away from a World Cup semi final.
A depleted Portugal bar their way. It could bode very well! Now may be the time they are found out… or now indeed may be the time they finally deliver the goods.I suspect (or at least hope for) the latter… :)
Honest… I do 8-[ ….
Good Luck :D
