ive been thinking about this, does any other countries make rock?
when i say rock,i mean like blackpool rock etc
also brighton rock, where they cunningly made it into a film.

Peppermint canes are popular in America. I think they are made using a similar process but not sure if rock is popular elsewhere. Incidentally, are Yorkshire Mixtures popular outside Yorkshire?

A few things spring to mind in remembrance. He stated that he gave up being an MP to concentrate on politics, which seemed a very pithy thing to say – and apt considering how media focused and soundbite trained many of our elected representatives are.

And there was the occasion on the half-baked 11 o’clock show where he was interviewed with Ali G in a spoof interview (as was the style back in the 90s) purporting to be about engaging the young in politics and he was asked a series of very silly questions about street slang and the Ali G feigned racist and sexist veiwpoints. Benn handled it with such aplomb, readily attacking stupid comments and calling Ali G and idiot with the self-assured confidence of someone who wasn’t too fussed about how he looked on camera. I seem to remember a round of applause from the studio audience after the video rolled, too.

Other politicians looked like idiots as they tried to be ‘down with the kids’ and attempted to be cool. The young disenchanted and disenfranchised responded to him because he was far from patronizing – a rare skill in politricks

Not shy at all Laney, it’s just that I wouldn’t like my pic to be copied, photoshopped and plastered onto some cuddles and hugs site, or on any other site for that matter.

Lol, loving the way P o r n has morphed into cuddles and hugs

Lol @ cuddles and hugs site.

I guess there is nothing that will make a person acknowledge their shortcomings more than seeing their head on the body of an adult film star.

Actually, come to think of it, I’m all for photoshop, hoow else would an average Joe like me get to date someone like Sandra Bullock?

Well done Sharon and Laney (and you both look adorable btw) far braver than me.

I’ve been reading through everyone’s statuses on Face book and on here peoples messages etc regarding the year we’re leaving behind and all the emphasis on the coming New Year and it’s got me thinking… the last couple of years haven’t been good for me with my illness loss of a loved ones etc

It isn’t the year that is good or bad…the year just is…it’s a numerical reminder of how what time we have is slipping by us. Guess what I’m trying to say is our “year” on the whole is what we make of it. It has been and will be what we allow it to be. Sure there are aspects of it that are out of our control, the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, accident and illness. But most of it grows from our actions or inaction’s, the decisions we make, choices and paths we take. It’s not any part of life that is crap, but how we look at it and most importantly of all WHAT WE LEARN FROM IT.

My personal reflection is: I’ve met some wonderful people, made some new friends, hung on to some very good friends……lost people I love…Helped some, loved many and hurt a few but it is what it is…despite it all I wish you all the best for the coming year
Happy New Year Everyone Stay Safe

I like this statement. Very wellput, angelbabe. It’s only a good year if we heed the lessons, i guess. Some smart alec in some book I may or may not have read said ‘it doesn’t require a great past to have a great future’ – and having a crappy 2013 doesn’t preclude the possibility of 2014 boding a better one. I hope the best for all of you.
