Never been a fan of gift cards either as a present or as a recipient. Great for the retailer; very little benefit for the consumer I think. They lock you into a particular retailer, are usually time-limited and sometimes have other constraints.

I’ve never been able to find any valid reason why gift cards can’t be honoured by companies in the hock, to be honest.

See Danny, you can be nice and play with the big children. A rather refreshing comment, young man.

No, I couldn’t do it. Not because of any concern about civil liberties though. If i had kids I would pine for the good ol’ Victorian days of yore where the cheeky little ragamuffins were treated with abject contempt and put to work as chimney sweeps or at the very least begging street urchins.

My reasons are – and i’m quite angry with you for putting this idea out there for public discussion – that we wouldn’t stop at kids. I can imagine if I was ever to get married the unfortunate Mrs Trawler would ensure that i’m micro-chipped and prevent my having too many nights out with the boys. Imagine trying to tell your better half you’re stuck in traffic and on your way home when the pesky GPS system pinpoints your sorry body as sitting in the snug at the Red Lion Inn.

Don’t forget to add me as most boring :P

never. i enjoy our very occasional chats.

Longest serving chatter. Martin. I’m assuming he’s been a fixture since the beginning.

Shortest serving chatter. Me. (Think this is the only award i have a chance of winning)

Most giving and understanding chatter. Mrs Teapot. Always willing to hear an opinion contrary to hers without resorting to a tirade of abuse. Oh, and money penny has a lovely ability to ignore the haters and sprinkle joy.

Most charming chatter. Tainted has a certain magnetic quality with the ladies. Jadey because she’s the social glue of JC and there’s none better when she’s on form.

Most lesbian chatter. Lucy. Out, pink, proud and loud (and fun with it to boot). She’ll probably cajole Daisydot to accepting the award with her, get her drunk at the awards ceremony and begin her dastardly plan to make her the next Mrs Locket.

Most fiesty chatter. Cockneygirl. Lovely chatter who refuses to take any nonsense from the trolls. Similarly Kenty, who’ll stand her ground, support others and address bad behaviour, even if she runs the risk of becoming unpopular and against regulars if necessary. A very commendable quality.

Most reformed chatter. Hugh always seems genuinely remorseful after his occasional outbursts.

    Most missed chatter.

Most name changing chatter. Quench/Dan has a certain chameleon like quality of late.

Most attentive chatter. Tex charming and always remembers the details of any meaningful previous conversations. Taffy our resident anglophile who now sounds more like a Brit than I do.

Biggest Shyte Stirrer Asian and Rev for being equally racist, ignorant and their constant desire to cause trouble in the main room when it is otherwise peaceful. Oh, and Quench for having a major problem with my talking to Money Penny and for spitting out his dummy. Get over it, fella

ForumHost MO’s special medal :-Person with the most ability to pi ss a guide off by just saying hi. Should be awarded to Asian and Rev, both of whom should be kicked out as soon as they enter the room. They have had enough chances.

ForumHost NS’s special medal Most irritating chatter. Ernie Brass for his condescending tone. It’s one thing to be articulate and intelligent, it’s a completely different thing to think that this somehow makes you superior to those who don’t have the good fortune to have the same gifts as you.

ForumHostLD’s special medal:- Biggest moaner. Lol. i have my moments.
