The last thing I would ever want is to make anyone feel unwelcome, or left out, hell, I`m still a newbie and I`ve been here nearly two years.
What I meant was I often don`t connect ppl from boards to chat and vice versa.. my thuhgts on thin et al were just a few that came to mind, you teapot… I like u, u clever and see what goes on :)
I still think of myself as an outsider tbh :)

Simply because it’s fun. The place is full of idiots who deserve contempt. I would rather read abuse than a bunch of dippy cretins talking about the most mundane things and overusing the x key.
In pm or some that are fortunate to get on my msn i will be friendly and polite with as i have an interest in talking to them. The rest, why bother.
Did you ever watch the show grumpy old men wake??

eeeek I have this argument everytime someone belittles haggis :) Beacuse I am Scottish, folks assume its my Staple diet. I always ask ” do you eat at macdonalds”? least we know whats in haggis. !
=D>
Amazing how people will readily eat processed food with no real clue how it was made or what is contained, but show them a haggis recipe and they refuse to eat it. I am willing to bet if someone took a haggis recipe, turned the mix into burgers without the sheeps stomach, people would happily eat it. Then tell them what they just ate.
I think you are right Pixel/Ruby. When my daughter was 8 years old she came home from school saying she was a vegetarian… I went along with it thinking it was just a fad… anyway it wasnt she is now 29 and still a veggie. I thank my lucky stars because at the time although I thought it was a bind it changed my whole way of thinking about food. I would never buy processed food and I have never eaten in Macdonalds> I agree with you if people really knew what they were eating they would re think their eating habits

I don`t mind arguments or debate, I actually get along with most ppl (possibly cos i have no clue who`s who  ) but.. scrolling and personal insults, threats etc are just stupid.
I like locking horns, and think it can be done without malice, and when its done well it can be great fun, one thought though we all know the numpties do it for effect so why give them any time at all?
Thin, you`re sharp on here, never had the honour of chatting
Cosy, I see something different to most then
Jen, who are u in there?
Gaz, nah u can`t be in there!

I popped in f3 earlier today saw a lot of old name
I thins, was good xMight even return :)
I think you summed it up nemesis… the older members here like yourself treat the boards and chat like a private club and are unwittingly unwelcoming to new people hence your post

It seems that whenever you started chatting, whether it was a year ago, 4 years ago, 6 years ago, you will always say “chat was so much nicer before, what’s happened to the banter? We used to have fun didn’t we?”
Nowadays when I go into chat, 9 times out of 10 there will be a row or abuse going on, often between regular chatters. It sometimes seems that some people are only there to have a go at someone else, often picking on the same person over and over again with the same “argument”. It’s like watching a child picking a scab, they know they’re opening old wounds, that it’s gonna hurt but they do it anyway.
Don’t get me wrong, there are some lovely chatters, and I don’t expect it to be nicey nicey all of the time (my glasses are only slightly rose tinted), but why do it?
Why come into a chatroom just to be nasty as some chatters seem to? Do you do that in real life? Would you just walk into your local bar, shop, whatever and start being nasty to people?
Why, if you don’t like someone or they’ve offended you in some way, don’t you just ignore them? Isn’t that what you would do in real life?
Why make threats even if, as some people say, they are just words on a screen? Would you go around threatening people in real life?
Would you behave the same in real life as you do in jc? If not, then why do it here?
I’m not having a go at anyone, I just don’t get it, and it saddens me to see nice friendly chatters being driven away by people who condemn the numpties without realising that sometimes they’re a numpty themselves. :-k
Gosh Jen I dont mean to offend you here but I find this post incredulous… pot and kettle spring to mind here… sorry only telling it like it is. I try not to get involved in spats… I will shut up now
