The silly cow copies stories off the BNP website and posts them here. She’s turned this forum into a conduit for neo-nazi propaganda. Sadly, some people actually agree with her idiotic and bigoted comments.
17 October, 2006 at 12:56 am #244350What a load of bullsh1t, especially from Geoff who decided to quote from my post without bothering to read it. First of all, wearing a veil is usually the woman’s own choice, they wear it because they want to wear it. Why should it be viewed as isolationist? Just because some people feel threatened by people who dress differently to them and decide to steer clear of them how can you then put the blame on the woman? The person to blame is the fool who decides he doesn’t want anything to do with a woman just because she’s wearing a veil.
Secondly, you always hear some idiot somewhere going on about how immigrant communities should try to integrate more. To be brutally honest, immigrants aren’t made to feel welcome in this country particularly by the press and by other right-wing elements in our society. So the key to greater integration is to eradicate all the xenophobia surrounding the issue of immigration. Think about it, all this muslim-bashing in the media recently, do you really think that encourages integration? If you make people feel wlecome they will integrate more. If you don’t want to welcome them then don’t complain about a lack of integration.
17 October, 2006 at 12:38 am #244406White people come here who don’t speak English well either. I remember when I was in school there were a few Iberian kids who barely spoke any English. It wasn’t a problem for us though because it was a Christian school and it didn’t suffer from the sort of ignorant prejudices that exist among adults in our society.
Drivel doesn’t realize that it takes time to master a new language. He’s probably one of those people who would struggle to order a cup of tea if he went abroad yet he gets all high and mighty about people coming here who aren’t fluent in English.
14 October, 2006 at 10:20 pm #244337Some muslim women see it as obligatory to wear a veil just like some Christians see it as obligatory to fast during Lent (my point being that not all people do it). So the wearing of a full veil (niqab I think it’s called) is seen by some muslim women as something that has to done. It’s futile to try to examine the Koran for teaching about wearing a veil. Even if it’s not in the koran it can still be part of the faith just like some aspects of Christian dogma are not in the Bible.
As I already stated, it doesn’t need to be worn with young children. Apparently the woman has now said that she wants to wear it if a male teacher is present which makes more sense. Personally, I think she would be better off teaching in a muslim school then she wouldn’t have these problems. As things stand it’s not a very practical situation for her to work there unless she wants to wear the more common muslim headscarf (hijab).
The BA case is different because wearing a cross is not a religious obligation and the dress code at BA says that all necklaces and other types of jewellery must not be visible. So this would apply to a necklace with a cross on it, a Star of David on it or a crescent. They probably allow staff to wear simple rings, so maybe she could just wear some kind of ring with a cross engraved on it or some kind of Christian writing.

Emmalush, I look at all the new topics and see they are nearly all started by you and they are nearly all complete garbage. Your domination of these message boards is embarrassing. Nobody ever agrees with you but you don’t shut up. You are a fuc/king moron.
AMEN!!!!!
14 October, 2006 at 12:40 am #244323It’s true that muslim women don’t have to wear veils in the presence of young children. So there was no sense in her refusing to remove it.
14 October, 2006 at 12:36 am #244397The caveat that I would add is that the Standard belongs to the same group of papers as the Daily Mail. I don’t think they’ve given us the whole story and apparently the school is yet to investigate what exactly happened:
“The school is now investigating exactly what happened before deciding what action – if any – to take against Codie.
Headteacher Dr Antony Edkins said: “An allegation of a serious nature was made concerning a racially motivated remark by one student towards a group of Asian students new to the school and new to the country.”
“We aim to ensure a caring and tolerant attitude towards people and pupils of all ethnic backgrounds and will not stand for racism in any form.”
I’d rather wait for all the facts to come out before jumping to any conclusions. I doubt the police would arrest someone just because they said they couldn’t understand what some foreign students were saying.
It reminds me of the Cantona kick on the Crystal Palace fan. Cantona claimed the man had made a racist remark. The fan claimed that all he said was “Off you go! It’s an early bath for you Mr Cantona”. Eventually it was established that the fan actually said “Why don’t you f#ck off back to France you f#cking French motherf#ucker!”

There are also US bases in the south that would be vulnerable to an attack from the north. Obviously North Korea is capable of hitting Japan and South Korea too. On top of that they have a 1 million man army. So the only real option is diplomacy (or assassination but that’s frowned upon and who knows if Kim’s successor will be any better).
North Korea already had contacts with a pakistani nuclear scientist who had links to al qaeda and it has shipped long-range missiles to the regime in Yemen. So it is a dangerous country but the only way to handle the threat is by diplomacy.
As for Iran, their nuclear programme is spread out across Iran and so it won’t be as simple as the attack on the iraqi nuclear project was.
12 October, 2006 at 5:08 pm #243967I thought that act related to criminal cases and not civil cases. I don’t think it says anything about defamation. Well, it’s your neck on the line not mine. If you’re happy with the risk then so be it.
