“Mental illness is rising as a result of Brexit.” I am o.k. as this is your statement and or opinion of what you observing or reading.. However, since only educated professionals are ones you seem to respect make comments, spellings or knowledge, then I will jump on wagon here and challenge you..I know others here in the field as well as myself which you know me, met me, spoke to me, and know I DON’T LIE.
Mental illness is so wide and multi functional and can be dual as it hits range of ALL people in different forms, styles, ways if you will.. Mental illness sudden appearance just does not pop out because of a sudden tradegy and fear which shakes or awakens it..Mental illness can be heridetery 30 percent, 70 percent environmental influence. Abusive addictions such as drugs and drinking can also effect mentality, illness, and in it’s own form, ways, result in performance of brain functions reducing ability to rationalize so forth depleting brain capacity. This too can make one cross over to mental illness if gene is one hidden and or dormant underlying in individual humans. Saying all this does not mean I am saying all who abuse drink or use drugs have an illness.. mental one focused here in my simple 101 class.
People who go to war may never had any mental illness or inherited gene. However PTSD can be influenced by what seen and did and use drinking, drugs, poor health regiments influence the mental stability. Same as loss of loved ones, jobs..
So to a degree you can apply the comment that your Country’s impact and fear for some on this Brexit is “Mental Health on the rising” as fear, uncertainty can trigger upset resulting in additional needs for coping mechanism. BUT it certainly not on the rise as it already been influenced and this has fueled it more. When people start killing others that is when you look at mental illness as it so very serious, not meaning it not serious now.
Scep you are a person in my opinion who influential enough would scare the hell out of me if I was weak individual. You promote so much fear, rather than compromise if solutions available or make me feel better in little support if needed. I never come to you ever in real crisis as I could not look up to you, or feel relaxed sorry.
Right now this Hurricane is bothering everyone if live there or not even if friends or loved ones in harms way. Uncertainty. Ever changing speeds and knots.. Mental illness not popping out because of it, frankly fear and loss of life and property, where should go to, what find when go back, but they will manage some how. Be provided much support and help by people and the government.
Sure uk will survive too fairly in some form or way for all the people.
