I lost my Dad to cancer just over 5 weeks ago. I know the pain of seeing someone you love fade away infront of you, all too fresh. My deepest sympathy goes out to her family. No one should die at such a tender age. Despite her faults – which we have all witnessed, she was a mother, a wife and a daughter and I feel for them profoundly at having lost Jade today of all days.

Cancer is non discriminate. It does not care if you are a good or bad person, if you are old or young, black, white or sky blue pink with yellow dots. It is an evil and vicious illness. I have seen it ravage people I love.

Hoping and praying that the parents of the children who slept over last night hurry up and collect them all because I have totally had enough now. (Thats the edited pre-watershed version).

Alas the war on terrorism is not something you can fight in the middle east. Its the home grown terrorists and fanatics amongst us, standing next to us on the tube, the ones we went to school with, those who to the untrained eye share so many of our western beliefs that we need to be wary of. I live in Luton…. a very diverse society and a melting pot waiting to explode… I saw protests against our British troops in the town centre last week… from a radical minority… Terrorism is not something you can fight with soldiers. It’s planned behind closed doors.

I have several friends fighting in Iraq and Afganistan… all are changed men since having done so..was it worth it? One dictator is ousted and before long another will take its place. It’s the destiny of that region. – my opinion for what its worth.

What made me smile…. watching a wood pigeon puff himself up and run back and forwards along the ridge tiles of a house in order to try and attract the bored looking female on the other end of the ridge…. It reminded me of some of the males in F2 :D
