I use a Samsung Note as i use the stylus.  Never owned an iphone. Never wanted an iphone.  I also want an open architecture and be able to control my phone which is difficult with Iphone.

1. In the first step hold down the Power button and tap on Restart icon two times from the menu.
2. If the phone vibrates or the SAMSUNG Galaxy logo shows up press Volume Up + Power key together for a couple of seconds.
3. When Recovery Mode appears let go of all keys.
