Yes online friendships can work if both people are honest and neither are role-playing and pretending to be something they’re not and neither has a hidden agenda. They are of course different in nature to real-life friendships, but friendships none the less.

I got bitten quite badly early on in my chat life and find it hard to trust or let anyone close online now. I’m a regular chatter but I doubt that many would say I’m a friend. However sometimes someone will get passed my barriers and I’d say I now have 3 people that I consider online friends rather than just fellow chatters. One of those I know would move heaven and earth to help me or be with me if I needed it, and I the same for them.

I do wish though that people wouldn’t air their dirty linen and all their grievances in the chatroom when people fall out and an online friendship comes to an end…dignity and self respect seem to go out of the window with the friendship and self-rightousness and venom comes flooding in and put on display for all to see. :(

I like some of the points u make ere jen iv also been bitten with someone who had a false persona, however i b lame myself cuz i kinda knew all along that sumit wasnt quite rite, on the other hand iv got a couple of ppl ere that i wud consider good friends and we do intend meetin up and wen friends fall out in main i just think that if a friendship can cease and turn so nasty then it was never real in the first place x

2 weeks later i got an e-mail from her husband telling me she had 6 weeks to live.. I was on holiday. I came home .packed anothe holdall and headed to Tunbridge wells.. sh died seconds before i got there. man i cursed her for not waiting.. she woould have gotten the joke btw. :)

so Yes. It can happen and I am proud i Knew this Lady.(gulp) Love ye Ju.. x

As always its the innocent victims who suffer, I watched sum of the 9/11 memorial yesterday and then some of the Children of 9/11 last nite…..was very sad and touching
