maybe they have dissociative disorder or bipolar Mrs T,im a size 8 5,11 legs upto my neck, long blonde hair,(i jest)i know what you mean and i am a little street wise. It seems some thrive on talking a load of bull, probably more sense comes out of the other end of there body. They would not know normality, honesty if it hit them in the face. Ive heard some tales from some chatters mainly about there illnesses, cant get a job cos there illness and there wifes have left them(lol)just looking for an easy ticket ride out of a bad lifestyle, my advice get off ya ass n get a job, being in a chat room 24/7 wont find ya one.It now goes all straight over my head, take them with a pinch of salt

im sorry lancs it is a very cruel illness for anyone to have to watch someone suffer through it.It does help if families know has much as possbile about the illness, unfortunatly some families stop visiting, through guilt or ignorance, so the care staff become there family

Mrs T an jen jen i agree the law should be changed, it is cruel to see how some can suffer, and yet we put animals to sleep. I have seen some over the years that have been cruel, made even worse by the fact that they have dementia, they are unable tell you they are in pain.I am very lucky the staff we have as we all know the clients very well, so we know there facial expressions, body gestures etc.any thing out of the ordinary.I have spent 6 hours this morning in a&e with a client, there was a ms sufferer in the next cubicle, he was crying out in pain, the pain relief wasnt touching him, oral morph, then he had to wait 3 hours to be transferred to another hospital. It is a cruel world at times we all live in, and our moaning over a little ache n pain is bugger all, there is always someone worse off then us.

Im in the private sector, money is tight everywhere and money is why i have rejected a mangers job 4 times, i cant look as a person as £ sign. I never discuss politics or religion, but how can this goverment justify spending £ millions on the olympic games an yet not bugger all on health services? CQC ratio is or was 1= 5/6 clients no matter what level of care they require, we care for 28 mainly in the later stages, some are very challenging both physically and mentally, we have 5 staff in a morning and 4 in the afternoon, plus a nurse. But one of the afternoon staff has to cater for the clients tea requirements, so that leaves 3. We know we will not getting anymore staff so we have stopped wasting our energy moaning about it, we just get on with the job.
Education and more funding is the only way in my eyes to improve the way the elderly are cared for. “care for those as you would like to be cared for”

Mrs T i work with people with all the stages of dementia, the things i have seen and heard of are disgusting, the nurses in the hopsitals have no idea of the illness, ive seen dogs get better treatment.About 6 years ago i was involved in a legal case where a registared mental nurse left her position.I told the medical council then that nurses who are doing there training needed more practical experiance with regards dementia. That fell on deaf ears. Its the same with CQC inspectors all they are bothered about is the paper work, never mind the patient, and CQC recently got a blasting for failing
