I do think that if Rangers were in Europe they’d have to look at that area but as you said, they should be strong enough domestically. Bougherra looks good from what I’ve seen of him but Weir’s the only real option to partner him. Think Edu can play at the back as well though, losing Cuellar might just be the best thing to happen to Rangers for a long time cos we’ve lacked depth for far too long now.
But I honestly think that this puts more pressure on Smith, if that makes any sense. If things don’t start to click then his head’s really gonna be on the block.
Ah, the fickle world of the Old Firm

Now I can play through the alternate ending at my leisure.
21 August, 2008 at 4:34 pm #362072Davis in, Mendes in, Edu signed (apparently, even though a work permit needs to be secured) Bit of quality in the midfield does a lot of good, the defence isn’t that bad despite the fact that our right & left backs are both natrual central defenders.
I wouldn’t worry too much about that, hopefully a stronger midfield will create more chances.
21 August, 2008 at 11:27 am #327346I have created a save point just before that particular one starts (that was the plan all along as I heard there were two endings) and I do know what happens if you choose the other option, I just want to see how it plays out.
I didn’t know what happened with the option I went for, I thought the final decision came in the final mission, so it was a nice surprise. In a weird sort of way.
20 August, 2008 at 5:35 pm #327338Out Of Commision – the final mission on GTA IV. Not that difficult, just long and frustrating combining my least favourite aspects of the game. And when I’ve done it, I’ll have to do it again to see the alternate ending
13 August, 2008 at 7:18 pm #362071I’m kidding, they won’t get relegated. Won’t be for the lack of trying though

13 August, 2008 at 6:57 pm #362067I’m sure Birmingham will be aiming for the top four as well

Cuellar was bound to leave, I’m actually surprised that he was still there at the end of January. I heard after the Liverpool game that the reason he wasn’t played pre season was to prevent him picking up an injury and the reason he came off against Raith (if I remember rightly) was so that they could justify not playing him against Kaunas.
The premiership is the best league in Europe so you can hardly blame him for leaving.
No, I wouldn’t hold it against anyone from the SPL wanting to try their luck in the premiership or even the championship for that matter. That’s one helluva competitive league and that’s why I like the look of Bougherra (his performance against Falkirk was a rare plus point from the game). And like I said, I’m surprised he lasted a full season. It’s more the way the fans have been treated that bugs me, for instance the fact that an ‘injured’ player passes a medical. That backs up everything that I had heard about him being wrapped in cotton wool as they were expecting a bid.
Hopefully the money will be put to good use, but I think Smith is now in a lose-lose situation that he’ll find it difficult to get out of. The Rangers legend tag isn’t gonna save him from the backlash. He has to deliver.
