17th August 1998, 2.36 pm (er…maybe).
First text i got was telling me to hurry up and dial a premium rate number to claim £400 which I had ‘won’ in a competition. First text I sent was one minute later to Carphone warehouse telling them to shove their phone up their @rse.

Don’t know if this was linked to anything but, if it was random, I like it! This is the standard of post we should all try to reach!
16 November, 2005 at 2:58 pm #169812shame it wasn’t something else as well, I could do with a help in the swelling department. Still, bet you someone else got stung by a whole swarm of bees probably and is even worse off than me.
16 November, 2005 at 2:50 pm #169810I am the Worst Person Off in JC cos I got stung by a bee and now i can’t play golf :(
14 November, 2005 at 8:20 am #83395didn’t realise birds eggs had habits? are you not getting this confused with the common analogy between penguins and nuns?

“I Really love your peaches wanna shake your tree”
Was that the clash?
Or how about some really brilliant lyrics by Meatloaf
“And you’ve been cold to me so long…I’m crying icycles instead of tears”
Ernie is a very clever song, no doubt about it, and another one especially for the older generation on just chat
“Don’t jump off the roof dad”
Bonus points to anyone who can tell me who sang it
p.s no cheating by looking on Google.
And how many years difference do you think there was between Ernie and Meatloaf with these two chart hits: ffs they could have been on the same ‘Now that’s what I call music’ album…. well same 8-track maybe…

Ok separate thread from ‘Best Lyrics Ever’ thread. Simple question: has the song ‘Ernie’ the best lyrics wot has ever been wrote? NAIL YOUR COLOURS TO THE MAST HERE – No fannying about!
YES or NO?
First point goes to the ‘Yes’ camp cos it is my vote.
1-0 to the Goldtops
NO.
&.. STOP BEING SO GAY
I presume you mean ‘Gay’ in the traditional ‘carefree’ sense? Even a neurotic, Euro-sceptic, homopobic traditionalist such as you Tommy couldn’t fail to see the man-loves woman-loves another man romantic dilemma of Ernie ffs? What’s your best song? White Riot? :)
3 November, 2005 at 11:56 am #159810I feel there is a general agreement that ‘Ernie’ was perhaps the best lyrics wot was ever wrote! Shall we have a vote on it – for or against (no shyte alternatives please – yes or no!!). Show your true colours….
ERNIE – FOR or AGAINST? Vote on the seperate thread (leave this thread to the loved-ups).
