Sometimes political correctness is very bizarre. Religious differences often appear to be behind a lot of these problems but if people choose to live in a different country should they not respect the historical views of the country they move to rather than trying to impose the views from where they originated – just a thought
It would appear that things in this story have been blown out of proportion but like most stories there are three views, one side, the other side and the truth

Windows –
step 1
You phone your server’s helpline and are told to reboot
Did that fix it?
No?
go to step 2
Step 2
format hard drive
reinstall Windows
(lose all your files: quietly weep)[
I re-install windows about every six months – just have to save e-mail, passwords and data to an external hard drive. Restarting with factory setttings and then installing all updates and software I use takes about a day and a half but I am then back to a clean system which runs much quicker

Should women take their husbands surname once married?
Some people use double barrel names whilst others keep their maiden name.
Did you change yours?
There would be an outcry if men had to change, maybe we should.
Personally it does not really make any difference either way as to me the married part is the thing as opposed to the surname
I have found it amusing seeing some of the double barrelled names sounding more like villages than anything else – i.e. those that include surnames like north or west etc
Here in France most forms ask for the ladies maiden name and most mail is then directed to that surname – so changing surnames means naff all lol
2 February, 2012 at 11:19 pm #489123Funnily enough Helen, our daughter and I were discussing this just yesterday. I was admitted to hospital with a severe ear infection in January 2001 but before I could be admitted I had to get Helen to buy a pair of PJ’s so I could be admitted safely. Typically she went and bought two pair’s for just one nights admission. So I two pairs of PJ’s that have seen just one nights use between them, so yesterdays topic of conversation was why buy two pairs when one would have done – course two females idea of logic won though I still disagree

Oh Coaty! I so want to be immortalised in your great literacy works! I’ve cleared my bookshelves of works by Hardy, Wilde, Dickens and Shakespeare, and filled them with print outs of your far superior work.

is there any point to this? answers on the dot of a full stop
29 January, 2012 at 12:30 am #488913there will never be an answer to too soon that will fit everyone
just a couple of thoughts that may or may not be right
kenty – perhaps your mother realised she could never replace the person she loved and married and never tried to do so but took pleasure from the time and the children they had together
Anc – young love is always much more raw at such a young age and therefore the results can hurt more at the end of a romance though moving on to the next is not so difficult – so for your son it may not take too long
