the pen is mightier than the sword or you try to make it so

How many Brits live in France, work in New York, live in Spain or are trying to sell there.
Probably the UK exports more Brits than they import from France

Is that why being drunk is a legitimate form of defence in English law?
Maybe it is in French law.
Yes your Honour I was drunk when I drove my car and killed those people so I am innocent in English law
French law is much tougher on drink drivers and from the 1st of July all cars must have a breathalyser kit so the driver can be self tested and know if they are fit to drive
30 May, 2012 at 10:16 pm #497574There are people you meet during your life whether that be in real life or online who touch you in some respect.
When they pass it is always sad but it is always better to celebrate the impact they have had on you and remember that rather than to mourn the loss because they will forever be a part of you
30 May, 2012 at 10:07 pm #496677This period of time 30 years ago was an interesting one for me – in the April I met Helen and in May we got engaged before we had bought and moved in to our first house together in the August. In the meantime we had a holiday in the Lake District, visited Edinburgh and South Wales, and saw Simon and Garfunkel live at Wembley.
Also met the outlaws in that time too ;)

It would seem someone somewhere really needs to get a life rather than use a social media site to get at ‘others’
To all the people who use the chatrooms and the forums – don’t let the people wanting to hurt ‘others’ ruin it for the people who come here simply to enjoy a chat with other people
12 May, 2012 at 11:22 pm #495906Personally I have no problem with sites using ad-server sites to pay the cost of providing the site, but I do find it a pain when the advertising is intrusive to the point that it is very difficult to bypass or takes over a large percentage of the page limiting access to the page. For example there is one site that appears on the right hand side of the screen which causes the text in the chat room to be cut off

12 May, 2012 at 11:11 pm #496455I think that this is more a cultural thing than anything else. We have some German friends and they thought it perfectly natural to do so in public. Personally I tend to think it is something done in private.
