There are people you meet during your life whether that be in real life or online who touch you in some respect.

Personally I have no problem with sites using ad-server sites to pay the cost of providing the site, but I do find it a pain when the advertising is intrusive to the point that it is very difficult to bypass or takes over a large percentage of the page limiting access to the page. I think that this is more a cultural thing than anything else. We have some German friends and they thought it perfectly natural to do so in public. Personally I tend to think it is something done in private.

To cut a friend off because they do not value your opinion seems a bit harsh but that is your choice
