If you both love each other i see no reason as to why a long distant relationship cant work just make sure your both willing to work hard on it as its the only way it will work. I have similar problems i always compare everyone i meet to this one girl and id do anything to have her back so if you have a chance to make yourself happy then go for it no point living with regrets x
