He isn’t in the England team you dozy sod….he’s part of the squad and hasn’t don to bad when he has got on the pitch for them.
Owen and Rooney weren’t getting a look in against Argentina in the second half ( especially Owen ) Then Crouch came on and suddenly they where worried about the big man when balls where thrown into the box.They all headed for Crouch when Gerrard crossed for the second goal leaving Owen to find some space at the back post.
Im not saying he’s the best English forward by any stretch of the imagination but I watch him every week and he is a descent enough player with a good touch and brings other players into the game.
He is a different option when things ain’t going well.
Once he gets of the mark Im sure he will weigh in with a few more…..he did score 16 goals after Christmas last year for a struggling Southampton side after Beatie left them.
It’s a big move for the lad and he needs time to settle.
