I have to say there is a real shortage fo really memorable films about recently

Usual Suspects is my favourite of more recent times

Before that I thought Midnight Express was a brilliant harrowing true story film

I think Shearer would have chosen the Toon anyway – even if other teams were interested in him – although there didn’t appear to be a lot of interest in him .
He’s been a great servant to Newcastle – but he went there to win things
How can you call Newcastle a big club when all they have won for the past 500 years is the Northumberland Vase
The only way you will ever win somethign there is to get rid of the Board and Chairman – look how Hall and Shepherd villified the Toon supporters and Newcastle lasses – not so long ago Oh yee of short memories

Mick’s done the best he could with the resources available

I’d have like to seen him buy 1 or 2 good players – especially a forward – rather than go for quantity
However Whitehead & Lawrence have proved good buys

I’ve been to nearly every game this season – home and away – and apart from the Portsmouth game – we haven’t been stuffed – it’s been the odd goal and stupid mistakes

I agree Oss – they are different types of players though ; Rooney drops back into midfield to lose his markers , Shearer is more of an out and out striker .

Although I am a diehard mackem Shearer has been superb throughout his career – but shouldn’t he have gone to a decent team to win some trophies ???
