It’s only scores on the doors at the end that matter Matt. It was to be expected that Celtic would be under the cosh for most of the game. That’s what happens in away games in Europe, certainly when teams visit Old Trafford.
Celtic not only opened the scoring, but got back into the game when they were 2-1 down. Aside from a very dubious penalty, and a mistake by Gravesen we would have got something from the game.
We were set up as sacrificial lambs, and I thought we gave as good as we got, especially in the 1st Half.
Celtic will beat Man Utd at Parkhead and qualify from this group.Celtic didn’t deserve anything out of the game – as matt said Man U shoudl have scored 8 or 9
It was a dubious penalty that brought Man U back into the game – who knows what would have happened had that not been awardedApart from that the performance of the night was :
Leeds 0 SUNDERLAND 3

I think our Drivel gets a little confused so don’t be too hard on him. I don’t think he differentiates between criticising a Government and it’s people. I lived in the USA for a year and loved the people. But much like I am proud to be English, I don’t have to agree with or like my Government, that doesn’t mean I have to hate the whole nation.
Be gentle with him.
I’m saying you are anti -AMERICAN meaning the government not the people – the only confusion is you
I don’t agree with all that our Government do either . I’ve been Tory since my Uni days – up until which I was staunch labour13 September, 2006 at 10:47 am #241205@galaxy wrote:

Drivel I can see it,s going to be pointless trying to explain this to you. It was the poor kids first day at school. He was humiliated in front of everyone..they all laughed at him apparantly, whilst he cried his eyes out. It was totally uncalled for. Discipline yes, downright cruelty and humiliation…NO. God help her if she does anything like that to my daughter.
As myself and PB say – poor kid – everyone laughed at him – ohh dear – ffs
It’s hardly on the richter scale of cruelty – if you get involved as a parent over petty things like this – then the kids will play on it
You cant tellme off or my mummy will be up at school and bray you !!!!!!!!It happens – then education goes out the window
No wonder there are so many ignorant , disrespectful , uneducated kids about
Bring back corporal punishment
Did you not see on the news last night – 100 experts saying that kids these days are like battery hens – brought up on disgusting diets – stuck in front of tvs and pcs all the time – we are rearing a society of no brainers
13 September, 2006 at 10:05 am #240893I have only ever come across Robbo on the Sports threads
I find his lack of education and logical thinking amusing
But there again he is only recently out of short pants – isn’t he – don’t tell me he still wears them !!!
13 September, 2006 at 9:34 am #241272FFS – poor little kid
10 press ups – how humiliating
It’s attitudes like this against any sort of control by teachers that is / has ruined our educations system
FFS – 10 press ups isnt gonna harm him or scar him for life – it might help to keep him fit even !!!!!!!!!!!
The brat might even learn his alpahabet properly13 September, 2006 at 9:30 am #241156You won’t get anywhere arguing against BM and Geoff and the likes ; they are totally anti_american
Even if you did invade Zimbabwe – being the main example they choose – they would then find some way of dissing America for thatBefore the Iraq invasion the majority of people felt that something had to be done – America had the balls to do something – then all of the anti American pacifists crawl out of the woodwork
Back to the main point of the thread – I don;t think the people that lost their lives will be saddened at all at the way America has fought terrorism since 9 11
The goal posts have changed – you are dealing with extremists fanatics – people who have no value for their own lives let alone the lives of others
So the CIA are torturing these people to get information about terrorist cells etc IS that so bad ??
Don’t tell me it doesn’t happen all over the world to different degreesCAll it barbaric – call it what you want – if it stops atrocities then i think it’s justified
How many terrorist plots have been foiled – they are the ones we don’t hear about
12 September, 2006 at 1:13 pm #240018Does anyone here at all rate Martins ??/ – apart from Robbo – who doesn’t really count because of his lack of knowledge
I doubt whether anyone is going to see him play for a full 90 minutes this season !!!11 September, 2006 at 10:54 am #240016@robbo wrote:

Well Robbo – let’s see how your players got on yesterday
Bent – brilliant – totally impressive – did he touch the ball ???/
Gerrard – ace midfielder – brilliant haha – totally outplayed by Neville
You can carry on with your name calling Robbo – but you haven’t got a clue mateThe only player I have perhaps a reservation about is Johnson – bu there again – the Liverpool defense was absolutely abysmal
Now onto Newcastle – pml 10 million for ????/??/ Martins Ohhh sorry as you say I haven’t seen him play a full match yet Why – cos he got a dead leg in his 1st match – although he had done nothign before that – and he was taken off yesterday – because he was shyte !!!!!!!!! well done Robbo – another one to look out for
Your choice of players is unbelievableDefoe – ffs – he’s off to Portsmouth – he far better carry on and get the ferry to france
BUt hold on – you critiscise me for critiscing other teams – like Newcastle – instead of praising my own team
Where was I yesterday – ahh yes Derby – along with 5,000 other Sunderland supporters – and did we win – deservedly so – great performance
But there again we are real fans Robbo – not armchair viewers like you w ankin off at Foreign football shyte
Let me summarise your sum total football knowledge – Martins is a superb player – fast as feck – prolific goal scorer – toon have got a bargain
HHHHHHHHAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaa
Stick to tennis mate – but even there you havent got a clue – your a bit young for crown bowls yet – but perhaps you might get an interest in crazy golf !!!!!!! – or maybe synchronised swimming !!!!!!!!!
I’ll sum your whole post up by near enough one thing..You are basically judging them on one game..Where have you been the past 2 years?. Locked up in your bedroom, typing to users about how you love critisizing teams and what not?
You cannot judge players by one game..It’s impossible, and shows your lack of intelligence towards the sport..How about Ronaldinho? He didnt exactly have a wonderful game neither. What about Kaka for AC? Ronaldinho against Arsenal last year? He was absolutely garbage for BOTH of the games, and against Chelsea! So are them players a fu.cking disgrace, or are you going to be a hypocrite and of course, contradict yourself in your next post? The fact of the matter is…Every player has obviously days when they do not perform up to standard!
I loved the way you came rushing on here like a child with a little bit of knowledge about yesterdays games and yesterdays players to try and rub something in when you yet again failed to do so, but you will keep coming back, trying again, to prove a point that cannot be proven.
I have years of wonderful performances by Gerrard, Defoe, and other players alike..Well done for picking one game, you moron!
This, “armchair fan” thing is really making you look a total fu.cking idiot!. I won’t say anything on that..I’ll leave that one for you! You do an amazing job at making yourself look an ass!
I didn’t rush on here at all
I had a leisurely drive back from Derby , we stopped at Harrogate and watched the WHU Villa match there
Which incidentally Villa should have won Tevez will take some time to adapt to the speed of the Premiership – the defenders were on top of him before he could react
Let’s hope he is successful next week against the Black and White shytesYou’re a bit too wasy to reel in Robbo , I might have to look for more hardened adversaries
Talking about Liverpool – Alonso and Garcia were absolutely shocking – do you reckon the foreigners aren’t up to the high tension hard tackling local derbies
