I’m not too sure about global warming being a red herring as you describe it to be. You only need to look at climate change to realise that. We have continous floods in various countries across the world as well as other natural disasters which scientists have blamed on global warming, and everybody knows that the ice caps are melting. Unless everyone stops driving etc.. and starts recycling more I can’t see the problem improving either.
