What has me baffled is, how can these women walk away from an incident like this unpunished to the extent where there was no prison sentence given. Yet a person doing exactly the same thing with dogs (dog fighting) gets jailed ?

It appears that you have misquoted the original article. And it isn’t infact the offender who doesn’t want to go to court but the victim.

I’m off to New York too in July for about 5 weeks, upstate mind, not city. During that 5 weeks we are gonna be driving down to Florida and spending some time there before driving back up to NYS again. Can’t wait, tis gonna be fun fun fun. :D
