Interim suggestion?
20 October, 2008 at 11:48 am #384125Well it was kind of an estimation,
I didn’t see any green mists or flying saucers so reading between the lines there are some that did……..and some that did not make it through the maze!
It’s a bit like life really,
It’s not just breathing the air that keeps us alive!

20 October, 2008 at 8:24 am #384115Alas who has made such a decision to wipe from the boards of electronic madness the faces we know and admire for their awakening enlightenment of typed waddle and endless piles of meaningless vitriolic aspersions
Thrice thrice and thrice nay are they too be banished forever, never to return and babble away with endless piles of words and analytical equations tumbling over astonishing facts purposeless statements and general knowledge outreaching this universe and way beyond!
Personally I like seeing the people here I know and catching up with banter, jokes, and sharing whatever bits of humour are sent to me with everyone!!

14 October, 2008 at 11:54 am #381920Let me guess……..
A Mother had three virgin daughters. They were all getting married, and mum was a bit worried about how their sex life would get started. She made them all promise to send a postcard from the honeymoon with a few words on how marital sex was going.
The first daughter sent a card from her honeymoon in Hawaii two days after the wedding. The card said nothing but “Nescafe”. At first mom was puzzled, but she went to the kitchen and got out the Nescafe jar. It said: “Good til the last drop.” Mum blushed, but was pleased for her daughter.
The second girl sent her card from Vermont a week after the wedding. The card said only: “Benson & Hedges”. Mom went to the drawer where her husband kept his cigarettes, and she read from the Benson & Hedges pack: “Extra Long. King Size”. Again mum was slightly embarrassed, but she was happy for her daughter.
The third girl left for her honeymoon in the Caribbean. Mom waited for a week, nothing. Another week went by and still nothing. Mom started to get really worried. Then after a month, the card finally arrived. Written on it with shaky hand writing were the words “British Airways”.
Mum took out her latest Harpers Bazaar magazine, flipped through the pages fearing the worst, and finally found the ad for BA. The ad said: “Three times a day, seven days a week, both ways.”
Mum fainted ….

The LGA, which represents councils in England and Wales, says it has identified more than 20 councils which are believed to have deposits in the collapsed Icelandic bank Landbanksi or its UK arm Heritable.
They include Kent County Council, which has £50m invested with Iceland-based banks.
The LGA is still trying to work out the total sums involved but believes that, Kent aside, many of the councils had investments in the “single figure millions of pounds” but others had deposits “running into the low tens of millions”.
ICELANDIC INVESTMENTS
Kent County Council, £50m
Westminster City Council, £17m
Hertfordshire County Council, £17m
Havering Council, £12.5m
Buckinghamshire County Council, £5mThe LGA’s deputy chief executive John Ransford disputed the Conservative claims of the amount of money at risk.
But he said that “significant” amounts of public money were at stake which must be protected.
“This is public money and we need to treat this in exactly the same way as individual investments in these banks,” he told the BBC.
Westminster City Council has revealed it had deposits totalling £17m while Sutton and Havering Councils in London have investments worth £5.5m and £12.5m respectively.
North Lincolnshire Council has £2m deposited with Landsbanki and £3.5m in Heritable. North East Lincolnshire Council said it had £2.5m on deposit with Landsbanki.
Hertfordshire County Council has £17m invested, while Buckinghamshire has £5m, as has Cornwall County Council.
Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, has also revealed that Transport for London had £40m deposited in one of the affected banks.
(£40 Million of our money from driving fines and congestion charging)
“We are looking to see what redress we can find,” he said.
‘Massive shock’
The Conservatives have warned that town halls could face a “massive financial shock” and be forced into council tax hikes or cuts in local services.
“They are not going to find it easy in the short term,” Eric Pickles, the party’s shadow communities secretary, said.
He added: “We need to look at the number of authorities that will be facing a cash-flow problem – some have their payroll on this, for others it’s in terms of long-term investment.”

So how much are our banks getting from the government?
£25bn for initial scheme
£25bn for other eligible institutions
£200bn for Special liquidity scheme
£250bn under debt guarantee schemeTotal of £450 billion of the tax payers money.
In return are getting no new controls on our banks, no one at the top is being sacked or taking a pay cut and no guarantee of seeing any of the money again.
6 men in Downing street have spent this money without any vote in parliament or any public debate. (Not even the yanks tried that one.)
When Gordon Brown was asked where is the money coming from he said
“We are going to borrow it”
The real question you have to ask is where did all the money go in the first place?
We have been told its due to “bad loans” in the USA. Mr Bush wasn’t content with making us all fight and pay for Americas wars: he’s been asking us all to prop up the US economy for the last 8 years too.
I for one am not fooking happy about any of this.
I’m glad your money is off around the world supporting bad debt ”by others”
