I wonder if you’d tell your kids to grow a pair if they were to tell you that someone on line or in the real world was to say to them that they’d want to rape them?
I hope not for their sake.Excellent point!
Well of course I use JC. I know all about the ignore function and I’m even aware of the existence of an off-switch on my computer!
I also know that there is a justchat head honcho, forumhosts and more guides then you can shake a stick at. Where are all these when these comments are being put out there??14 June, 2012 at 7:49 pm #498411@eva licious wrote:
i hope they get raped is one example ive saw in the room
So the parent who objects to a comment like that about their children should ‘grow a pair’, or switch off and find another chat room?
Is this what you’re saying?
There are those who need to grow a pair but its not the ones you say. Switch off and bury your head in the sand? Well if such a thing was said about my children I certainly wouldn’t. Nor would I feel the need to grow some gonads!
You going into a pub isnt the same as having some idiot making perverted and disgusting comments about children. At least it isnt in my world. Maybe I am wrong…

Anyways I like you both but honestly grow up and failing that grow a pair
Who needs to grow up and ‘grow a pair’?
Its all very well ignoring someone who is personally insulting you but you have to draw the line somewhere. Having disgusting things said about your children is something that no-one should have to put up with. You advocate turning a blind eye? Well personally I think that if Justchat condones such vile behavior from disgusting individuals than it is certainly not a chat site I’d like to use. The two individuals mentioned spend a considerable amount of time in chat and chatguides are able to read room histories so If your children are insulted I would certainly report it. If the powers that be do nothing than there is nothing you can do. I like to think that any chat site that promotes itself as a ‘friendly place to chat’ would take action.
Certainly some forums could do with a guide on station 24/7 but of course thats not going to happen!
12 June, 2012 at 9:35 pm #498927Perhaps those pointing the finger haven’t experienced that awful feeling when you think you’ve lost one of your children. It can happen to anyone, we’re only human, even politicians.
And if the great british media are ‘going easy’ on someone than that would certainly be a first!
Perhaps the press standards inquiry has got something to do with it?!?8 June, 2012 at 1:07 pm #498469@j_in_france wrote:
Colonialsism was alright when it was the UK painting the world map red but the spin off has to be accepted. My father in law came to the UK in the 50’s from India though he is of Irish descent and his ancestor’s were in the British Army.
Its a shame when interesting discussions come down to statements like that. If you know your history you will know that Britain was one of many ‘colonial’ powers. Aspects of it are nothing to be proud of whereas some are.
Can we not debate matters that affect us NOW without constantly being beaten around the head with the PAST??
No country and no set of people of any race or religion are without their histories, murky or otherwise!
8 June, 2012 at 12:43 pm #498400I dont think it has anything to do with self-esteem. These people simply get amusement from this. Its the modern day playground where some will abuse and insult simply to amuse themselves or ‘impress’ others. Of course in the playground you could fight back whereas these types are nice and safe behind their computer screens.
Some insults cannot be stopped. Crass ‘mum’ jokes and generic ‘you’re this’ or ‘you’re that’ (usually fat etc) will always be in the chatroom environment as they are everywhere else.
This behavior also goes on on these boards too.
From my own point of view I will not talk about family or personal things in the room. Trusted people will be told things in pm or msn and assuming that trust is well placed (?) then that information will never get into the hands of these people.
Never any gaurentees of course….
5 June, 2012 at 1:55 pm #497868Criticizing someone for not getting replies in this thread. Initiating a ‘first to 500 posts’ battle on another and then proceeding to get very excited about reaching 500 posts?
I think someone is taking this posting business a little bit too seriously……
(I can’t wait to get to 150 posts!!)

I can be in a great mood one minute than ONE person can do or say something that winds me up so much it puts me in a foul mood for the rest of the day!!!!
It happens in life and even in jc………….is it just me or is this normal?????
What you’re saying is that you’re irrational and unpredictably irritable and grumpy. Show me a woman who isn’t!
