How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints,–I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life!–and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.Elizabeth Barrett Browning

to my valentine,
well todays the day oh love of mine
so i thought i’d send you a little rhyme
to tell you what you mean to me
and of the place i’d like to be
you see my love oh love of mine
your face reminds me of a wrinkled swine
all pink and hairy and full of sweat
how do ya fancy a visit to the vets?
your voice reminds me of a pnumatic drill
which is why i take those little pills
to help me dream of richard gere
i wish to god that he was here
i see your face when i am dreaming
and that is why i wake up screaming
but darling darling valentine
the thing that drives me close to tears
is that i might be with you for ten more years.14 February, 2008 at 6:29 am #139473Cupid de Locke
Cupid hath pulled back his sweetheart’s bow
To cast divine arrows into her soul
To grab her attention swift and quick
Or morrow the marrow of her bones be thick
With turpentine kisses and mistaken blowsSee the devil may do as the devil may care
He loves none sweeter as sweeter the dare
Her mouth the mischief he doth seek
Her heart the captive of which he speaks
So note all ye lovers in love with the sound
Your world be shattered with nary a note
Of one cupids arrow under your coatAnd in the land of star crossed lovers
And barren hearted wanderers
Forever lost in forsaken missives and satan’s pull
We seek the unseekable and we speak the unspeakable
Our hopes dead gathering dust to dust
In faith, in compassion, and in loveSmashing Pumpkins

9 February, 2008 at 1:50 pm #307833I know the bible is full of claptrap, i also recall having to tell you what paganism was about not so long ago. So like i said, if you are going to discuss religion at least do some research first, so you dont end up looking a bigger fool than you do already. There is such a thing as live and let live, if you dont like someone’s religious belief tough shit, deal with it.
People who are religious only affect you because you allow them to. Try having some respect for other people’s personal beliefs, then you might see that others have some respect for your own. :)
8 February, 2008 at 8:43 am #307830If you actually knew anything about religion emma, you would find that islam actually uses many references from the bible and jewish texts in the qur’an. In fact many of the main christian and jewish male figures, are reffered to as prophets of god. They also believe that many of the common elements written in each different religious texts, are due to the same divine source.
As dawny rightly said, what business is it of yours, what someones religious beliefs are? Are they personally affecting you or your life? People choose to be influenced by religion, it is a personal choice, and unless you are totally weak minded, or a child with strictly religious parents, you can choose to either embrace it or reject it.
Oh and btw, christians used to convert people of other races simply because they thought if you didnt believe in god you were uncivilised and a heathen.. So not so different to your interpretation of muslims really eh?
Now, if you are going to discuss religion, at least try and do some proper research first, and not just pick up bits and peices that suit your particular arguement at the time. :)
