Go into your bios and check what temp your processor is running at.Sounds like you have a lot of fluff in your heat sink and if you use memory gobbling programes this will cause the fan to work harder to keep it cool.

Instead of ever contemplating using IE for Ebay work use firefox.You will find its a lot less hassle uploading piccys and there are ways to make it go like the wind.
