I read the book that she wrote about her ordeal, it was truly heartbreaking. As for Sarah’s Law. I am in two minds, I think that parents should know how safe their children are and who is a threat to them, but do we wrap them in the proverbial cotton wool? or give them the freedom they crave as they grow older. I think everyone knows a “dodgy” looking bloke and I don’t mean the sort that sell knock-off goods from the boot of their car. Unless they do something that gives cause for concern, what right do we have to target anyone that looks a little “dodgy”. The flipside to this of course is if they actually commit a crime then fingers will inevitably point and say “I told you so”. Life is about risks and chances and dodging those bullets you hope you won’t catch. Sarah’s Law should be brought into play, but then if the information leaks into the wrong hands, who is to know the extent of the damage caused. What interests me the most is that “dodgy” joe’s going about looking like they are about to jump on anything are easily targeted. It is the judges, the lawyers, the doctors, the paedophiles in the careers that will never be caught unless they are part of a ring. Those silent types with a wife and 2.4 children who do so much for the community. They exist, abd they do this sickening crime. A job title does not a decent person always make. Remember that.
