15 September, 2013 at 11:48 pm #520251tinny had cystic fibrosis and what many people dont realise its in the genes of one or both parents, nothing can stop these young sufferers from leading an all too short life, even transplants while giving them a short length extra on this life this illness still claims them.
its a disease that attacks all the organs in the body but expecially the lungs, young people are now able to pass more peacefully than years ago when respritory problems left them in excrutiating pain and fighting for breath.
there are so many worthwhile charities out there but research seems to focus on the bigger well known ones that can affect many people such as cancer.
without wishing to taint this thread by blaming the government for lack of money that is ultimately a factor with this charity mainly raising research money form benefactors or hard earned funding money.
its a horrible disease but then are so many others , motor neurone, cancer, fibromyalgia, heart defects just to name a few.
one thing i feel none of us must miss is actually how precious life is, i have had a big dose of reality lately with one thing and another, and i like many bemoan my situation, then, suddenly (if you are lucky) something triggers the thinking ‘what if one day all this goes’ ….beleive me a wake up call for anyone.
all in all life isnt a bowl of cherries for many people, but, as i’ve said before, no one can save the world but what they can do, is do their best in their own little corner of the world.
I miss tinny so much , the world is definately a sadder place not only without him but i’m sure each and every one of us could name people who have passed on that if not on a daily basis but from time to time still feel the physical and emotional pain losing a loved one brings.
funny thing is and i hope others can relate to this, in the current world communications come in all forms, firstly tinny may have not been my birth son but he came closest to the son i never had, and secondly on the way home after his funeral i had the urge to phone him and tell him how great the wake went and that so many more people were ther than he ever expected……… crazy perhaps but i suspect its more about being funny lil human beings, often with our own agenda, our own funny lil ways, what we do have to know is that each and everyone of us is unique…….. or are we?

9 September, 2013 at 6:15 am #520206Good post Lucy, mental health issues carry such a stigma still in todays society, someone who is clinically depressed often get told to ‘get a grip’ or pull yourself together’ or the old adage theres always someone worse off than you.
depression builds up, it isnt always apparent and because we cant actually see depression as we can see a broken leg or other ailments its often brushed under the carpet.

oh like the thunder, lightning, and motorway brimstone/fire on that last night !The best are always attended by extreme dates and weather conditions when they depart. It’s like the earth itself rages at their departing.
I’ve noticed this before as a sign that I will make much more sense of when I too am gone.[/quote]
dont forget the cupcakes ….

30 August, 2013 at 4:27 pm #520093tinny and i talked at length many times about his i used to jibe him being a ‘satanist’ and we’d laugh.
All i can say is a week ago i received the phone call from the hospice and whatever he believed bears no importance to me, i have found myself reaching for my phone many nights this week to wish him goodnight god bless, i miss you tinny, i have no regrets save you left this ride called life too soon for me , selfishly i know he was in a lot of pain.
I cant believe the amount of people who have messaged me on facebook, people who he met on his frequent visits to hospital , people he shared his passion for model cars with among others, i hope tinny you now know how many people cared about you.
goodnight god bless baby boy xxxxxxx
