Have to agree with Mims Pete, while people can understand the anger you feel, I can! she’s right, it doesn’t solve anything, stronger and harder punishments need to be set in place. Until theres a politician with the balls to try to start changes then nothing is going to happen, and children like this little one, and baby Peter and going to continue suffering.
I know too, that your going to say that it does solve this issue, that he’d be as dead as the child he killed, but as Mims said, what about when these vigilantes get the wrong person? it happens!
What I truly can’t understand is that when these people are put on trial, and found guilty and sent to prison, the first and very next thing they’re breifs do, is to launch an appeal. It was my understanding, that by going to prison you lost any rights you may have you lose the right to vote don’t you?,,,,,,why are they given so many ”rights”!! Who speaks for the ‘rights’ of these children? where is their justice!
20 December, 2009 at 12:53 pm #426364My money’s also on this scumbag facing just manslaughter charges, there are no witnesses and he’s denying having had anything to do with her injuries or her death. The police are no doubt going to say, again!!, not enough evidence, as they did with the Baby P case, they couldn’t prove which one of them struck the killer blow and they were charged with manslaughter. 12 years maybe? of which he’ll serve 6 or 7, then be given a new identity and left to get on with the rest of his life, and maybe perhaps go on to do the same to someone elses child.
While I do feel some sympathy with the family, you have to ask yourself, why was this child known to social services, and were there signs that should have been looked out for, I spose they’re the only ones have to live with those now un-answerable questions.
I’m with eve on this one, 6′ x 6′ stone cell and locked up 23 hrs a day, added to which, no computers, no tv, no priveleges, nothing but time, time to think, and time to realise that this is their lot, for the rest of their natural lives. ](*,) can already hear the cries of ‘inhumane’ from the human rights brigade eh

27 November, 2009 at 11:53 am #424692The benefits she receives shouldn’t come into it. She receives child allowance and they also get working family tax credits, which as a low income family, they’re entitled to. My whole point was that at least the father of these children does work, and isn’t one of those seen on the Jeremy Kyle show bleating about how he can’t possibly work with all these children, has a bad back etc etc etc.,
These children clearly arn’t neglected or mistreated, there are plenty who are, and maybe the ‘Sun’ would be better employed hurling those kind of stories into the limelight instead of picking on a family just to sell newspapers, because basically thats what it’s about, sensationalising stories and selling newspapers.
Iv’e seen on other sites over the last few days, people openly attacking this woman, saying she should have her benefits stopped  also critisising her on her choice of names for her offspring, although what her choice of names has to do with anything or anyone else for that matter! is totally beyond me!! Maybe some people have nothing better to do and maybe they’d be better employed spending a little more money on a newspaper instead of a comic like the ‘Sun’
