No Martin I havnt got microsoft works or microsoft word on my pc. I,ve just got basic windows word. Windows word is basic, whereas, I hear microsft word has a few more functions. I,ts just that to buy it, it,s expensive so I wondered if I could download it. If it,s not that much different than basic windows word I wont bother..it,s just that the school use it and they like them to have it at home, and if I could download rather than buy it, it would save me a fortune.

No Drivel you are completly missing the point here. The point is, that the teacher in question went, IMO, way over the top. The punishment did not fit the “crime”. Teaching children to respect their teachers is only right..teaching children discipline is only right. I respected my teachers and that is down to the way my parents brought me up. I know about discipline too, again thats how I was brought up. My dad used to be a copper so I certainly know about discipline. This wasnt discipline. This was IMO, an abuse of her position and an abuse of power. She did it because she could, and she even apparantly said, she did it for a joke. To have that kind of treatment on your first day at senior school is dreadful, IMO. If you have a postition of power, like teaching etc, you dont abuse it just because you can. The poor kid was reduced to tears whilst his fellow class mates looked on and laughed at him. Can you honestly not see anything wrong with that? Do you think it,s a joke too? I,ts the same kind of principle of having “power” if you like as the guides here. I,m sure most of you know that I,m a guide here. I dont go around ejecting people just because I can. I do it if necessary. You tell kids off it,s it,s necessary, not just just because you can. If I booted people just because I can I,d expect and deserve to be told off and quite rightly so. I,m not against teacher control Drivel, but I am against bullying and people abusing their “power” or postion. I,ts wrong. IMO.

Sunny that is soooooooooo cruel. That poor little mite, what a bloody evil sow she was. I cant stand to see “parents” smack their kids like that. ffs the poor little mite was only 2 and his little legs were tired. I dont know if I,d have done quite what you did lol but I,d certainly have said something to her. He must have been bewildered and wonder what on earth he,d done wrong..and as for calling her own son a little b@stard!! some women are just evil, they dont deserve to have puppies let alone kids. :evil: :evil: :evil:

Peeved, teaching your child right from wrong is one thing, and a good thing, kids need to learn that…BUT, bullying is quite another. As for fearing the teachers, again, IMO thats totally wrong. Respecting the teachers, sure, of course, but they shouldnt be terrified of them. And just for the record, if that sort of thing ever happened to my daughter, I certainly would NOT hit the teacher. I,d certainly loose my temper and yell at her yes. I send my kids to school to be educated, not bullied and terrified.

The whole point of my thread was, what that teacher did wasnt about discipline, that had nothing to do with it. It was all about power. She did it because she could. You dont do things just because you can, you do them if they are right, and that, IMO was WRONG. And peeved, I,m all for discipline in schools, but, that wasnt. It was bullying. IMO. And yes PATS, if she ever did anything like that to my daughter, may GOD help he is all I can say. :twisted: :twisted: If I find out what the kids mum did I,ll tell you all. :wink:
