    I would certainly argue that these are social problems, and nothing to do with religion. The vast majority of people in this country who have morals do not get them because of the values of any religion.

    So there’s no correlation between the loss in morals and the decline of the church whatever its denomination ? So we must get morals off our parents therefore parents must be rubbish nowadays ?

    Well, some of em sure.

    Humans had morals long before churches and religion came along. Humans will have morals long after they’ve gone. Someone is no more likely to commit a crime in an athiest society than they are in a Christian society.

    Sure, but I think the examples you gave are still slightly different to the ones I mentioned in the opening post. I believe after studying both that the Moon Landing Conspiracy and 9/11 are slliced to pieces by Occam’s Razor.

    Quite an interesting video here on You Tube. It tries to link the mindset of conspiracy theorists to those of a religous persuassion, but I found it quite interesting.

    Here’s another few from the Old Testament:

    Deuteronomy 22:28-29
    If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, 29 he shall pay the girl’s father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives

    It seems it was ok to rape women in the Old Testament, as long as you married them afterwards, and paid their father fifty shekels of silver.

    2 Kings 2:23-24 (King James Version)

    23And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.

    24And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

    It also wasnt a good idea for children to mock bald people in the Old Testament or God would send bears to rip them to pieces.

    I like this one. It’s the Old Testament’s way of dealing with rebellious teenagers.

    18If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:

    19Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;

    20And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.

    21And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.
    Deut. 21-18-21
