The first thing going through their head is NOT is this health professional pulling a fast one or Is this really a lipoma ! Those poor patients put their trust in that corrupt Dr & any normal human being would not automatically be demanding 2nd opinions or questioning the integrity of their consultant.

And that is exactly what I did, and because of it I have a dead mother as she was MISDIAGNOSED ; The NHS failed her. And this is where my experience with The NHS as opposed to Private comes from, as private diagnosed her 8 months into her ordeal, but it was too late by then. If you really are a nurse, I hope to God I never end up in your hands. Your line of reasoning is that of my GP and the other consulatants/members of staff who work for the NHS, who visited my mother over an 8 month period and got it tragically wrong before she was finally diagnosed by a PRIVATE SECTOR consultant.

    Blossom you talk total bollocks!

Private healthcare DOES NOT get you better treatment than NHS you obviously don’t know it’s usually the same consultant !!!

I got more compassion in my bloody eyelash than you got in your whole body!!

I am sorry about your mum I truly am BUT my mum went through the trauma 3 times in 10 years – The last cancer – liver took her 11 weeks after she was diagnosed! She wanted quality of life so refused chemo – at most it would of bought her a couple of month & her last few weeks feeling rubbish her body being ravaged by the effects of chemotherapy as it was she was pretty good until 36 hours before she had finally had enough & let go.

I with my sister nursed her at home for her last few days until 24 hours before she passed away in hospital at HER request & that week was hell on earth. We got through it because we had too.

Some times NOT EVEN THE BEST MEDICS CAN STOP CANCER!!

So before you start playing the big I am – realise that you aren’t the only one who’s lost a loved one & I sure as hell wasn’t on line  at the time as you admitted you were !

I will no longer post on this thread – you can’t use a subject such as cancer as a vehicle to score points on a bloody message board !!!!!

The woman who got the working class man to buy there own home so making sure he can go out on strike. Pure Class.

Hmm but what about all the houses repossessed in the aftermath of the recession. I have a lot of respect for Ma Thatcher purely based on the fact she had the “balls” to stand & be counted on various issues ie the Falklands war. Not sure she’d be too impressed with the politics of today though.

The Falklands war? More ex squaddies and servicemen who fought in the Falklands later took their own lives, committed suicide, killed themselves, than died in combat during the actual war. They took ended their own lives because PTSD and other combat related mental disorder were NOT recognized by the Thatcher regime and the MOD, who pointblank refused to provide the necessary resources to the Mental Heath Service on cost grounds, despite overwhelming evidence from America regarding combat related stress and disorder. It is all well and good stating Thatcher had the “balls” to stand up to Galtieri’s mishmash conscript army of kids, but she Thatcher and the tory regime, did not have the “balls” to look after those who fought that war on her behalf, upon their return. That is not even getting into homelessness among ex squaddies and servicemen/women and prison numbers, which were and still are disproportionally high, specifically because of PTSD related issues. Suicide always rockets statistically under a tory regime, whether it be kids from sh*t council estates who fight their political wars, or among the general population.

I take your comments on board Gerry BUT people know the risks when they sign up for the armed forces.

The same could be said of those that fought the WW’s BUT where would we be now if those wars hadn’t happened?

Someone somewhere has to stand up & be counted in this case Mrs Thatcher.

Oh & I was a kid brought up on a “sh*ty council estate until my parents were in a position to by their own property in 1979.   ;-)

You know what there are certain posters that have commented on this thread that quite clearly never been in the situation where a diagnosis of cancer has been given to themselves or a loved one.

As soon as the “C” word is mentioned nothing else is heard or retained by the patient.

Most (most NOT all) see it as a potential death sentence & just want to know what happens next .

The first thing going through their head is NOT is this health professional pulling a fast one or Is this really a lipoma !

Those poor patients put their trust in that corrupt Dr & any normal human being would not automatically be demanding 2nd opinions or questioning the integrity of their consultant.

I sincerely hope they never find themselves in that situation .. I bet they wouldn’t be so smart with their comments then.

Hmm interesting reading ….. & it was that dickhead Blair & Alan Milburn that brought in NHS Foundation Trusts & that as I said at the time in 2002 was the beginning of the end of the NHS as it was intended to be !!!!

    extortionate in flight prices .

What exactly did you expect to pay, you’re flying, not taking the bus? I’ve only flown Ryan Air once, and doubt I’d fly with them again, not due to the cost (as they’re rather cheap), but simply because the flight didn’t feel safe; felt as if the plane would tipple over if I got up to go to the loo.

I expect to pay maybe slightly higher prices NOT be ripped off TYVM.
