correct me if I’m wrong, but if there is a NO result then won’t they just keep having referendums until they get a YES ?

    Perhaps.
Such was the case with the Nice Treaty. After initial rejection, it was eventually ratified thanks to a second referendum here.
This time may be different though, being in essence an already second draft scenario as a consequence of the French and Dutch EU Constitution rejection.
A third bash in the event of a NO?
Such bureaucratic obstinance without any major amendments or clarification may push voters further away.
    But who knows?

Theoretically, the Lisbon Treaty MUST be ratified by ALL the EU members for it to come into legal effect. The irish have rejected it following their referendum. Again and theoretically it should now be dead in the water.

I say ”theoretically” because I just can’t see the Eurocrats giving up on this and going for a more ‘democratic’ type of Europe. They are all about centralised law making and centralised control …. with themselves at the centre of course.

My guess is that they will come up with a fudge of some sort which will allow them to continue to impose their beastly centralised control over us, in spite of it now apparently being of dubious legality.
