It’s going to split people up and to be honest, i don’t think it will work. It’s a controversial topic on a supposedly free site, which will not be a free site for all once a pay forum is introduced. You are going to get regular chatters either forced into paying when they don’t wish to – or others who simply cannot pay a yearly/one off fee.
Who would police the password? Who’s going to stop the mindless idjeets paying a fee each time to get in and share the password around to cause chaos? If you raise the cost to deter this then you’re gonna get fewer serious chatters on the uptake.
Just some thoughts ;)
Funny how those that moan about being poor can all afford the internet connection fee innit.
Yup! Those who use the internet at work.. or the ones which have their connection at home paid for by work I guess ;)
29 November, 2009 at 12:16 pm #410576Just to pick up on Rainbowbrite’s point about password access etc. Originally the suggestion was to have a ‘universal’ password to permit access to the new Forum. She is quite right in what she says – it would have been only a matter of hours before some clown circulated it and the ‘abusers’ got hold of it and off we go again.
However, the current mode of access is by allowing ‘registered users’ only to access the new Forum. This means that they have to use their own confidential password – the one they use to ‘protect’ their registered username.
If one of these registered users leaks their password to another user, they totally compromise the protection of their user name. Whilst it isn’t impossible that this would happen, it is felt to be much less likely.

Thanks PB :)
I guess if a user leaks their password then they risk having their name dragged through the gutter should someone write crude remarks with it!
Thanks for making it clear.

20 October, 2011 at 3:58 pm #410581The simple reason why you get so many ***** in here is because theres not enough chatguides.
Their not paid so whats the problem with having 40 or 50?
The only decent chat you can have in here nowadays is in pm as most of the rooms are full of gossip and nonsense.
