You do dont you :D You go to work, you earn £300 – £500 a week, you pay £60 – £105 in taxes, you dont care how its spent, and by who, nooo, your happy so long as you can watch coronation street and eastenders with your chocolate bar and your feet up.
Doesn’t matter to you what goes on outside your front door, you believe what the goggle box tells you, and it all seems rosey enough. Hey, and who can blame you, you dont wana know the gory truth that feeds the nightmare production team of your leaders.
So just out of interest, what do you earn per hour? Minimum wage, £7.26ph, £9.23ph, or are you lucky enough to break the £10 barrier, do i hear someone say £12, lucky you.
And do i hear you say, and i damn well earn it too, look at my hands, see, they are ruff, warn out in places, i work damn hard for a living.Well look no further, i have the job of a lifetime for you. How do you fancy earning £33? No, not in one day silly…one hour.
ONE HOUR you say, cant be done. I would need NASA qualifications, leave me alone its a wind up.
NO wind up, all you need to do is speak another language.
Sitting comfortably, thats what interpreters for asylum seekers get.
Shocked?
It gets better, it always gets better. On weekends, you can earn £66 per hour (including expensies), well you cant expect to be treated like royalty can you….

Its one thing to pay taxes, its another to get value for money. SURELY, SURELY, we do not need to be spending upto £66 per hour talking to asylum seekers etc?
OH someone help me, if this carries on im going to have a nervous breakdown
To top this story off, “A spokesman for Norfolk Constabulary, which spent £312,548 — a 357 per cent increase — said that the provision of a “comprehensive and high quality interpreting service” delivered justice for all.
He added that the force was “committed to providing a fair and equitable service for all members of the community, including a significant migrant, asylum-seeking and refugee population living and working here”.
When are you people going to demand a better service for your money, YOUR MONEY.
29 September, 2006 at 10:53 pm #243121So you’re saying police shouldn’t use interpreters. Maybe the police could telepathically translate foreign languages. If the police need to interview a tourist involved in an incident who doesn’t speak English, what are they supposed to do? Or what about a foreign lorry driver? To say that spending money on interpreters is a waste of money just proves how stupid you are. There are far worse cases of public money being flittered away e.g. in the realms of overseas arms exports and defaulted payments by foreign governments.

Im not tierd, i just want a yawn emotive for this comment.
A, we shouldn’t have the mass asylum issue.
B, we shouldn’t be paying upto £66 ph to speak to them.
Ipso facto, this government is WASTING alot of tax paying, hard working, law abidding people’s money. If you could vote so that the money spent on interpreting asylum seekers words, is spent more directly on what benefits your life, would you?

30 September, 2006 at 11:44 am #243125Its not how much we pay necessarily, its how there spent.
30 September, 2006 at 5:12 pm #243126Funny I don’t see you all paying council tax, capital gains tax, income tax at the max rate.
Funny its always the low paid, non home owners who never mind paying tax, after all they get most of it back in benfits.
And I know how they spend it, on buying votes with silly things that only a benfit a small amount of people.
Like English lessons for non English people and over sea wars for the USA.
30 September, 2006 at 5:43 pm #243127So you don’t have to pay capital gains tax when you sell your home? Or stamp tax when you buy a new house?
Maybe you don’t have to pay income on any rent you make if you let your home too?
You can tell that poor tommy is not a home owner

Interpreters can earn a lot of money because they have specialist skills. Demand and supply, if you don’t like it move to a communist country. Secondly, only an idiot couldn’t understand that sometimes the police will need to question people who don’t speak English. Let’s say a Croatian tourist who barely speaks any English gets robbed in Leicester Sq. What are the police supposed to do in that situation if they can’t communicate with the victim?
You might say that giving the police help to do their job is a waste of tax-payers money but I’m sure most of the people in this country would disagree with you. Most people think the police should have more funds especially to make the streets safer (from the sort of violent thugs you idolize). It’s no surprise though that you think policing is a waste of tax-payers money, I mean a lot of your BNP friends are violent ex-cons, fraudsters or are involved in other forms of criminality (in addition to their subversive political activities).
