What X Factor is good at doing is finding good performers – people who can sing well and put across a good presence on stage. Critics say it’s not about originality, just finding ‘clones’ of acts that are already out there, albeit possibly better at singing than the ‘real’ pop stars.
But over the last few weeks I’ve seen Cher Lloyd and she seems different. She looks like a future superstar, someone who looks different and acts different. She is very beautiful, but unusual looking at the same time, and she appears, in her own modest way, to have already outgrown X Factor, like she has more to offer. I think she could be more durable than Lady Gaga and possibly become the ‘British Madonna’ – maybe it’s the little gap in her front teeth that does it!

30 October, 2010 at 9:54 pm #450917Leona Lewis is very good, she deserved to win, I like her a lot – but she became a superstar after winning X Factor. Cher Lloyd has a quality of being something different from the usual, but still amazingly talented.
OK, one could say that about Wagner too – until his performance tonight, which fell a long way short of anything he’d done before. But Cher was amazing, she sang a very emotional song brilliantly, and was in tears as she sang but didn’t waver or falter musically one tiny bit.
31 October, 2010 at 12:53 am #450918I have never rated the lassie.. thought she was a one trick pony. till tonight. she needed a senso or “normality” to get the public vote. I enjoyed her ” stay”..
just kinda bored me waiting on the hip hoppity moment. which ( thankfully) never arrived.. mary or aiden will leave. we know it wont be wagner.. ( farce) ..
yeah, the wee lassie did well.

yes she was very good last night , but like leona it will be x factor that makes her a superstar if she does become one
6 December, 2010 at 9:01 am #450920she shouldnt even be in the final never mind be a superstar ,i think she had ONE good preformance that made me think “maybe “but nar shes mediocre
10 December, 2010 at 9:25 pm #450921Oh well, she’s still there and good for her. I will say that now Cher is up against strong competition. Rebecca and Matt are also amazing singers, while One Direction, as a group, are polished and harmonious. But it’s still Cher who sets the stage alight when she walks on (metaphorically). Even if she goes out this weekend, she’s done well and should have a bright future ahead of her.
i found out shes a romany traveller
David Essex was from a Romany background and was at one time president of the Romany council of Great Britain.
Other famous ‘gypsies’ include Charlie Chaplin, Michael Caine and Bob Hoskings, Sir Henry Wood (famous orchestral conductor) and Elvis Presley ( descended from German Gypsies called Pressler).
Indeed the original Cher (Cherilyn Sarkisian), is part Armenian and part Native American, so is in a way an ‘outsider’ in the USA.
12 December, 2010 at 12:23 am #450922Oh well, it was Cher’s turn to go in the X factor tonight. At least Matt and Rebecca are also outstanding singers and One Direction are ‘polished’, so it was probably down to style and peoples’ personal preferences rather than ability.
12 December, 2010 at 2:20 am #450923Its a shame Cher has gone I thought she was different and she writes her own stuff. I know everyone is raving about the boy band but I think they are rubbish, I hope they don’t win. I think my choice to win is Matt think he is the best of the bunch now, have to be honest none of them really inspire me this year.
wish I could sleep!!!!!!
