Oh and here’s a thought. Apparently it is reported that the final attracted some 8 MILLION telephoned in votes. They were offering a ‘contract worth £1 Million’ to the winner.
If each call generated only 25 pence profit for the show’s organisers – I reckon that they have made a stonking great profit on this element alone, before you take into account the profit on the sales of dear little Leon’s out of tune wailing on the Christmas CD.
Also remember that the organisers were taking a similar profit from all the telephone voting in the earlier stages of the competition – so they have been positively raking it in.
I draw a lot of comfort from the fact that huge numbers of Scots voted for (and paid loads of money for) Leon ….. thereby contributing something to the English economy for a change.
It’s always good to see the Scots pissing their money down the drain on yet another lost cause.
