well was a grt nights entertainment. the duets were utter shi/te tho. leon definately was the better singer on the night….even tho i have sworn all way that rhydian would walk it. inbetween howlin at rubes texts and relayin the show to sumone else 8) i thought it was pretty good. sprised at the choice of song for the winner tho…..i wont be d/loading it like i have all the others. an if i wanna hear leon i’ll just put my micheal buble cd on…….

(shades of louis walsh creeping in here….yes i’m a bad loser) :x probably the most boring series of x factor i have watched since the start but i applaud leon and wish him well.
oh one final point………….best bit of the night……….the x factor rejects murdering whitney houstons song and those blokers struggling to carry that overweight teenager dressed like a 1960’s toilet roll cover down the stairs wifout droppin her. jeez she med pavarotti look anorexic.

The result was clearly a nonsense. It is supposed to be a singing contest ffs – not an excuse for teenies to drool over some itinerant yob with a strictly limited personality and a tendency to blub at every opportunity.

Leon has a ‘weak’ voice and finds it difficult to sing in tune without wandering off the note. He also has a strictly limited vocal range. Whilst I agree that his duet was a good performance, Kylie Minogue’s outfit was hardly appropriate for a grown woman to prance around in with an 18 year old boy. Her outfit looked as if it belonged in a brothel.

Same Difference were as always annoyingly happy. Their songs were OK but they could perhaps have done “Walkin’ in a Winter Wonderland’ as their Christmas song – complete with dance routines. Louis Walsh is right though, they will have a career in pantomime and children’s musicals. Maybe the Disney empire will sign them up to do a 2008 version of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Rhydian Roberts was far and away the best singer – no question. His duet with Catherine Jenkins was slightly disappointing however, as they seemd to both have been somewhat under-rehearsed. It was more two people singing the same song more of less in time with each other, rather that a duet where they sing together and compliment each other’s vocal strengths. Perhaps Rhydian singing with a Mezzo Soprano wasn’t the best choice – too operatic for a contemporary music competition.

    My predictions for the future:

Leon will be a ”one hit wonder” assuming that his Christmas song – which was particularly dreary – makes it to the top of the charts. He will bask in the reflected glory of being the “X Factor winner” for a while and then will slip from the public gaze. He will probably go down the same path as Pete Docherty and achieve notoriety rather than fame.

Same Difference will land several contracts with various impressarios to appear in pantomime either in the West End or Richmond Theatre etc etc and will gradually progress downward to less well known provincial repertory theatres. They will probably make a name for themselves regularly releasing ‘children’s songs’ and being sickly sweet. They will go their separate ways when the sister discovers accompanied sex and ends up in a council flat in Southsea with several children and the brother releases a few singles – all of which will bomb. They might re-form occasionally to put on a concert for the local old people’s home.

Rhydian Roberts will enjoy a great singing career and will release several records that will be international hits. He will perform duets with famous female singers doing covers of hit records and will become a firm favourite with those who appreciate the ability to sing in tune rather than singing along, out of key, to electronically generated ‘music’. He may also be selected to play Rugby for his local Rugby Club, in between singing engagements. You will be seeing a lot more of him over the coming years, both on and off the Rugby field.

This years X factor was a total load of Sh*t!! Its probably had its day, and to think
Dermot Oleary has given up Big Brother to work on it!!! :x I dont think for too much longer!!

Well……….. whilst I pick myself off the floor after falling off my chair (PB watches Xfactor????)

Rhydian should have won, leon got the sympathy vote. Yes he is a nice kid but in all honesty should have gone weeks ago. The Scottish vote has a lot to do with it.

But……… it leaves Rhydian without a tied in contract with Simon and after the Xfactor tour he can do what he likes and he will be so successful.

I do believe it was fixed.

Amazingly I found the X Factor compulsive viewing this time around. I admit to having been hooked on it for the last few weeks.

The bookies had Leon as a 6:1 outsider and Rhydian as a 2:1 odds on favourite to win – so that in itself tells a story. Well at least the bookies will have a happy Christmas and a very prosperous New Year.

Apparently today’s papers are suggesting that the voting was ‘fixed’ in favour of Leon, because the number that you could have dialled for Rhydian was putting out the engaged tone a lot of the time.

But yes, Sharon is absolutely correct, we will be seeing a lot of Rhydian Roberts over the coming months as poor little weepy Leon slides back into the obscurity from which he came.
