I am over the moon!
She so deserved it! She is in a different category to Leona, I hate them all comparing them both, it isn’t right. They are both so different. Alex is so much stronger voiced. The right person won!!!! :D
15 December, 2008 at 10:27 am #381186Interestingly enough the “usual suspects” are moaning and whingeing in this morning’s Media already.
Simon was soooooooooo unfair to poor little Eoghan and JLS and letting Alexandra perform a duet with Beyonce gave her an unfair advantage over the other two finalists. Well boo bloody hoo……. they lost and she won so get over it!
She was streets ahead of both of them and thoroughly deserved her victory. So what if Eoghan allegedly topped the voting polls for several weeks. The fact is that his limited “little boy” charm wouldn’t have lasted too long once he either left school or achieved puberty (whichever came first). BTW did you see his father – what a serious hard case he looked eh? Wouldn’t want to spill his beer in a pub eh?
In spite of all of Lady Louise’s excessive hype, JLS are very one-dimensional. One average lead singer and three supporting “Doo wop, be-doo-be-doo-be-doo wop” groaners don’t make for a successful singing group – whatever the hysterical South Croydon teeny groupies may squeal.
The best bit ??? Dermot “OTT” O’Leary’s announcement that over SEVEN MILLION telephone votes were received. Just think of the money that was made by the show’s owners out of all the silly suckers that phoned in and spent a fortune casting votes…… and that was just on the final night!!! A fool and their money are easily parted.

PB,
You’ve used far too many words to make your point. A bit like Alexandra when she’s singing. Oh and I think she has an awful personality but great legs.
It was a poor competition as it always is and Alexandra is as forgettable as Leon Jackson was last year.
X Factor is similar to I’m a slug get me out of here in that both programmes lack REAL talent yet give real-life losers their last chance to snatch a payday for themselves. :wink:16 December, 2008 at 10:31 am #381188Sorry about the word count Sir Actor – I’ll try harder next time.
BTW for someone who is “as forgettable as Leon Jackson” Alexandra hasn’t done too badly so far. She is well on track to have the Christmas No 1 hit.
More that 105,000 copies of her cover of the Leonard Cohen song Hallelujah were downloaded on the first day of its release, beating the previous record set by Leona Lewis of 82,000.
(Leona Lewis was of course another “forgettable” X Factor winner who equally lacks “REAL talent”).
18 December, 2008 at 6:15 pm #381189Leona who?
Oh I always had you down for an X Factor fan so it’s nice to see I get some things right.
And you’ll probably be watching Home and Away as I write this.
Happy viewing!!21 December, 2008 at 6:55 pm #381190Woohooooooo Alex made No1!!!!!! :D
Even though Jeff Buckley managed to get put back in the charts!!!!Well done girl :D
30 December, 2008 at 1:59 pm #381191hopefully now all this jeff buckley stuff will go away!
i feel sorry for the man only popular because someone has covered a song he covered aswell!
fact is if his version was better than alexandras he woujld of been number 1 with it 12 years ago or however long it was ago when he released it!
but he wasnt!
well done to her winning i guess, shes no leona, and i think jls will be more succesful not for long but in the short term at least
30 December, 2008 at 4:46 pm #381192I watched a programme a few days ago about Alexandra Burke where the cameras followed her around shortly after she won the 2008 X-Factor.
She came over as a really nice natural person with an infectious laugh and a caring attitude towards others.
It was so refreshing to see that she didn’t give us the “pop star diva” routine. So many of them are simply spoilt brats heavily disguised as adults.
Alezandra came across as a nice person and a pleasure to watch and listen to.
