Don’t get me wrong, that girl can sing, but all you gotta do is hear I Wish by Bianca to realise that she has to be one of the best under 16 year old singers i’ve heard anyways, plus she had no singing training, nothing..Her parents didnt even know she could sing. It’s one hell of a remarkable story.
Plus, Charice tries to sound like the person who sang the song as much as she can…Shes unbelievable for 13, but Bianca wins it for me cos her voice is just natural..No training on that sh1t at all. Shes already got a 5 year contract with Sony.
ps: Charice only lasted 2 rounds..Very surprising though.

I agree with your view Robbo, but only in part. Yes Bianca does have an amazing voice made even more amazing by her youth and apparent lack of any professional voice coaching. (I wonder if that bit is REALLY true – I guess we’ll never know).
But having listened to several of Bianca’s clips, my feeling is that she is a ”belter”. In other words she seems to sing at full volume in something of a hoarse way … she belts the song out as it were. Sure, if you close your eyes then it couldn’t possibly be an 12 /13 year old …. but it is.
Charice by contrast seems to ”sing” the notes and to my ear she has perfect pitch – a rarity these days. She hits the note absolutely spot on first time and doesn’t go slightly either side of it and then have to come back on to it. She not only has the power to push out a song (as Bianca has as well) but she can sing quietly and still achieve the same perfect effect. Her singing voice reminds me very much of Whitney Houston … who has the same perfect pitch.
I find it worrying that a bunch of men want to stare at a young girl singing.

[/qI agree with what you are saying, but I don’t think one is better than the other, just different styles. Bianca is more of a Mariah/Christina style of singing, while Charice has the style of Whitney. I just wonder if Charice will make any moves in the industry, maybe when she gets a bit older or something. I worry that a lot of labels are still trying to sign Bianca, or have a part of her or whatever, even though shes with Sony, cos she could fall in the trap of where a label destroys a young gifted talent. We’ll just have to wait and see how she progresses I guess, the same with Charice.
